Newt is 100 percent correct. Newt went up one notch in my estimation (even though his private life has been exceptionally sleazy over the years) when he said he’d make John Bolton his Secretary of State, and I think Bolton would eagerly accept the position. Besides, I’m sick and tired of it being the newly designated PC “chick” position, starting with Clinton and Madeleine NotSoBright, then Bush doing it too, with Condoleeza, and now Obama with Hillary. Sick of it.

This is a dangerous world and the whole Muzzie Middle East has no respect for females, as it is in some other cultures also; so that’s who we send over to do our negotiating? A female they won’t respect in the least? And I say that as a female. I want a man in that position, a tough man, and Bolton is a tough negotiator. I really like that man, including his walrus mustache. So, good choice, Newt, if you make it to the finish line, and if someone else wins the primaries, I hope any one of them would make Bolton our SOS also. A very wise choice.

Great thread, great posts including yours, Flaglady! You hit the nail on the head when you called attention to the fact that the office of Secretary of State has become a "chick-thing", much to our detriment in the Middle East.

The analytical, intellectual and informational level of the posts on this particular thread are of a superior nature. What a pleasure it is to be reading such civil discourse. I learned things I never knew and discarded things I thought I knew.

I hope the roving FR primary candidates wolf-pack attackers don't find this thread and pollute it. It would be a pity.

I'm bookmarking so that I can return later to re-read the historical perspectives posted by well-versed freepers. Thank you all for your very welcome input.
