Reporting from Washington— The Supreme Court granted an emergency appeal Friday night from Texas Republicans, putting on hold a redistricting map drawn by judges that would give Democrats a good chance to pick up at least three seats in the next Congress.
In an unusual move, the justices announced they would schedule special arguments on Jan. 9 to decide whether Texas and other Southern states may proceed to hold elections under new redistricting plans that have not been approved under the Voting Rights Act.

We have proven that it is now mainstream for Hispanics to run as a "C"onservative Republican in Texas and win.
Unfortunately, many establishment republicans take the old patronizing position of thinking they can raise money and buy the Hispanic vote. Very old school and demeaning. Associated Republicans of Texas has done just this. They still haven't disbursed much money to Hispanic candidates.
The map that the Judges drew even changed districts that no one (not even the Dems) wanted redrawn. Personally, I think that intent was to throw the redistricting into chaos well into the 2012 election cycle.
So, where are the RATS going to run whining off to now?
The district I live in is now one of the new ones drawn by the judges and, according to the local news, was drawn specifically to benefit one particular Hispanic candidate!
This particular individual is an Obama sockpuppet who lost his seat in 2010 and is trying to get back to Congress to resume thwarting the will of the American people and doing ONLY what zero wants!!
I support the SCOTUS’ decision!! The new districts are supposed to represent ALL of the people in the district, NOT just “minorities” who serve the Dems.
(BTW in the recent Census, whites are quickly attaining minority status. When they do, with the minority rules be applied equally to them?? Inquiring minds . . . . . . )
