“The Sunday Morning Bray”, by Bray!

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere LOVE for your brothers, LOVE one another deeply, from the heart. 1 Peter 1:22

Looks like we will be settling on our nominee again which isn’t the first or the last time we don’t have a perfect Conservative in the race. Once again we have to push the ball as far as possible and then push it again next election and then the next. If we end up with Newt he is far better than Mitt Rino who is who we will be voting against, rather than for Newt. You will have to admit one thing is Newt will not back down from fights from either side and will debate the Conservative cause with facts and histoir. If only he truly had passion for the Conservative movement and didn’t fall for the DC corruption.

Here in the Peoples Republic of Portland we have a special election and are campaigning for a candidate who is not a solid Conservative. He has bought into the moderate lie which says you have to appeal to the moderates to get elected and is pandering to that as well as saying nothing against obozo. We have gone through the Primary process and we have two thoughts being forwarded by the Tea Party movement. One is we need to win and send a message throughout the Country that even in a liberal bastion like Portland a Republican can be elected thanks to obama. The other is to throw the election and wait for the next one and run a more Conservative candidate then. Problem is when will then ever happen?

Both arguments have merit but we have not won an election for forty years so what is the point of throwing an election to supposedly make a point nobody will ever hear. It makes far more sense to take the seat back and beat the Dem so you can fight the next election from a position of strength rather than weakness. There also seems to be an element of self serving to let this candidate lose so then they will have an opening next election and an easier road to the nomination. The problem with that is these candidates will let us suffer for another year with a commie lib Dem so their path to a nomination that will be just as tough to win next time. Rather than unifying we are dividing so the Party will somehow come to their senses while they all sit on the sidelines.

The better path is to fight with everything you have to defeat the Dems with the candidate you have, not the one you wish you had. Do we all sit out when our candidate gets beat or has positions we don’t agree with or do we win this election moving the ball to the 40 and then move it to the 50 the next election? This is the quandary the entire Country is going to be under in another six months as a candidate is going to be chosen half the Republican Party doesn’t like. This candidate will likely win with 40% of the vote which means that 60% of the Country wanted someone else. Many of us had two candidates bow out and are left with a group we are going to have to settle on which will put those people in a situation our Conservatives are in here in Oregon.

Do you sit it out and wait for next election or do you fight this one and worry about the next election then? Here is the strategy many of us Conservatives are following living in a commie lib utopia like Oregon. Fight and organize at the same time. We are coordinating our neighborhoods while we are campaigning for our candidate. He is actually a good guy whose heart is in the right place it is just his handlers have convinced him to play the middle. We are going to win this election and are doing everything we can to make that happen. While we are canvassing our neighborhoods we are also building our network for future elections by mapping our districts so they will be efficiently set up so we will know where all the signs will be placed and volunteers are located. This kills two birds with one stone.

Next election we can tap into our neighborhoods and have a leg up on the competition as we provide a network for the candidates to work from and begin winning these elections from a grassroots level. This will minimize the professional campaign managers while maximizing the voice of the people. This not only helps the candidate who is running but gives the people whose candidate was beaten in the primary a reason for campaigning as they look to the next election. This brings enthusiasm to all the people giving them a purpose to stay involved with the process.

We Conservatives have a hallmark of being big on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The most basic foundation of the Republic is the primary process. Whether we like it or not when a candidate wins the Primary the people have spoken and we Conservatives are supposed to listen to the people. When the candidate here won with 75% there was no question what the will of the people was so my duty is to work to the best of my ability to fight for those voters. We are making amazing inroads into our towns and learning how to win these elections. If we all went home when our candidates lost we would be going backwards rather than winning and moving forward.

So if Newt was to get the nomination he would not be my first, second or third choice but he would be the primary voters choice and a far better than Mitt or Ohbummer. This is why Conservatives need to be ready to win with the candidate we have not the one we wish we had. We need to develop our neighborhoods to become effective election machines for not only 2012 but for elections down the road. This will give our candidates a better foundation to work from and a better chance of actually winning those primaries and generals. Let’s stop the childish pouting and foot stomping and put our heads down and win the elections and truly make a difference. A President Newt is one who can articulate our views and will not back down like Repubs are so willing to do, he will just need the Tea Party to remind him to stay on the right path.

Pray for America

Good analysis. All the candidates seem to have been improving(except Romney hes still a rino) with time and more debates under their belt.

Newt's history is as I have been writing about for the last five years. He's still an 80/20 kinda guy,I see no change................

Since I won't be around long this morning I will get to what I think was the important happening of the week--zero letting the chicoms/iran have our drone.

What a disaster!

All he had to do was go pick it up with some air support and a chopper or blow it to smithereens. How hard is that!

My guess is between Hillary, his wife and Valerie Jarrett they convinced him to do nada, vote present once again which he is used to doing.

Hillary cause she knew doing nothing would make him look bad,his wife because she has new boyfriend and does not give a dam any more and Jarrett because she is just dumb.

We in Colorado can relate to your post today. If we cannot get the ideal candidate today we have to take what we can get for now and use the time in between to organize more and better for future elections.

The Ron Paul supporters understand this and have created their own cabal of supporters to push their candidate. Main stream conservatives have to do the same thing so we can win in the future.

For our RINO group, it’s easier to challenge an incumbent Republican than a Democrat and the Republican would be far superior to a sitting Democrat. IMHO, it’s dumb to lose elections to the Democrats when we could have won with a liberal Republican. Win what we can and use the time to educate and persuade others to support more conservative candidates in the future.

Exactly right, bray.

Some of us have already been disappointed in one way or another. I wanted Sarah Palin to run and to win. When my governor, Rick Perry, entered the race I was torn because I really like him and think he would make an excellent president.

However, I stuck with Sarah until she opted out. So I’ve had a candidate all along who’s been misunderstood, maligned and mocked, but whom I knew to be a good man and a good conservative.

I’ve often said jokingly that Newt Gingrich was a dirty word on Free Republic only a few months or years ago and that someone could be banned under the profanity rule for even using his name.

However, he gained enormous popularity in the debates and became the front runner. I like it that he’s ahead of Romney now and I think Romney will have a very hard time regaining momentum.

I really liked Newt on the Palestine thing last night.

All the candidates seemed better to me than they have before, with the possible exception of Bachmann. I just don’t think she has substance.

I thought Perry was excellent and the most likeable person up there.

Thank the good Lord I had it on DVR so I could fast forward every time Diane Sawyer came on. Could that woman be more irritating? I don’t see how.

Please don’t anybody go off in a huff and vow not to vote.

We need that Obama person out of our lives, out of our government and, if we’re lucky, out of the country.

For the the first time in many weeks/months, I actually saw parts of 3 shows on the same morning.

NOBODY is talking about a Republican convention where the candidate is not already determined. The possibility of a convention in August where something of actual importance needs to be decided is exciting; maybe we could push the election campaign back to when most normal people actually care about it, instead of making it last longer than the NBA playoffs.

And if we had an open Republican convention without a candidate coming in, I'll bet the candidate would be somebody who has not been in the current round of NBA playoff-debates we are going through now.

I'm really disappointed that no other women accused Herman Cain this week of acting like a Clinton or a Kennedy; sounds like the market value of a potential settlement or book deal may have dropped.

See my response at #64 on Breaking News: Feds Falsely Censor Popular Blog For Over A Year, Deny All Due Process, Hide All Details....

Good analysis of why the conservatives always seem to get beat. Politics is war by other means - but the outcome means play to win, not draw or lose!
