Score one for ABC News in the ratings department.
Saturday nights GOP debate was the most-watched of the 2012 campaign as an average of 7.6 million viewers tuned in to watch the presidential candidates take on such hot topics as unemployment and immigration.
Despite a relatively late start time -- 9 p.m. on the East Coast -- 2.1 million of those viewers were in the key adults 25-54 demo.
Both of those numbers beat the previous highs, held by Fox News in total viewers (6.11 million on Sept. 22) and MSNBC in the demo (1.73 million on Sept. 7).

Lol, I thought my guy was great and it was the best debate yet........other than having to listen to Diane. Hoping it had a large viewer audience.
I noticed that Steffi is looking thinner, just like Shep on Fox News!
Since they took off America’s Most Wanted off..not much else to watch on Saturday night.. /s
Disclaimer: I have watched all of the debates.
THE PROBLEM IS OUR PRESIDENT, NOT WHAT NEWT SAID.
Great news for Governor Perry, he stole the show last night, IMO.
As of today, I would vote for Stalin / Lenin over obama if given the choice.
Hey, you stole my new tagline! :)
New will keep winning debates - I need to see actual votes, millions of Newt votes. Mr. President, Newt Gingrich.
I think most people want to get Obama out of office - the ratings are great and as a Perry supporter, I’m glad that many people got to see him doing a great job in a debate. He’s getting better, and with his record - people will be giving him a second look.
Just keep eating those crazy mushrooms.
Well, we’ll see. He had his best debate yet, in my opinion. I think Romney’s going down.
I love mushrooms.
Perry had his best debate and one of the highlights when he moved the subject off Newt's "invented people" to Obama's failure to prevent the drone technology from getting into Iranian and other hands. Newt's best moment was getting Romney to admit he wasn't a career politician only because he lost to Teddy Kennedy.
Newt defended himself OK.
Romney has the infamous $10,000 bet to live down.

All of them showed well, occasionally the crazy uncle actually sounded sane. Santorum had his best showing too, Bachmann may have done the worst this time, but only because everyone else just did really well.
I noticed that Ole Shep was looking positively gaunt.
I like seeing Perry doing better. He was great on Fox News Sunday.

Ann Coulter’s Twitter Feed in regards to last night’s debate:
She’s trying really, really, hard to go to bat for Romney. I wonder if Newt gets the nomination if she’ll start campaigning for Obama, like she threatened to campaign for Hillary when McCain got the nomination.
