Kansas City police today identified a man killed in a botched robbery attempt Friday at a convenience store as William Rees, 33.
Police did not have an address for Rees, but online court records listed an address from Ozark, Mo. Rees was paroled from a Missouri prison on Aug. 16 after serving sentences for stealing, drug trafficking and second-degree assault.
Investigators said Rees entered the store about 3 p.m. Friday, announced a robbery and indicated he had a gun, according to clerks at the store at 5712 Independence Ave. As Rees reached over the counter for the money, a clerk shot him, police said. The stores video surveillance system recorded the incident, police said. Police did not find a gun with Rees.

The poor paroled reformed criminal would not have had to rob this store if the Government had given him a $60,000 dollar a year job to go with his parole.Perhaps an SEIU job as a security officer (aka rent-a-cop)at the door in the Treasury Dept.

Explain how he is a homicide victim. You kill someone it's a homicide...always!
The question is whether or not it is justifiable.
In this case, it was probably justifiable.

Homicide Victim??? Wow, the media still can't get it straight.
The perp has a record longer than you arm, comes into a business, announces he has a gun and that this is a robbery, is shot and then becomes the victim.
Asshats!

While TECHNICALLY correct, I don't believe the author was trying to be technically correct. The author was making a social/political statement. Make no mistake, the Press wants to paint a picture and lead you to believe something regardless of the facts.
They have long ago ceased to be a reporter of news. They see themselves as "change agents" and to do that, you have to shape peoples' thoughts.
This is simply one of those attempts at shaping your opinion of something before you read it.

Homicide technically means “death at the hands of another”, so it is the correct term.
This appears to be a “justified homicide”, cause some people just need killin’.
