Conservative columnist Rich Galen lampooned CNN for its liberal bias during his appearance on Monday's The Situation Room. During the bottom of the 4 p.m. hour, anchor Wolf Blitzer threw water on right-wing claims that President Obama is waging a "war on religion," and Galen called him out for one-sided coverage of the matter.
GOP candidate Rick Perry had recently produced a campaign ad accusing Obama of running a "war on religion." Blitzer, noting the accusation, played a moving montage of performances from Sunday's "Christmas in Washington" pageant, attended by the President, and then asked how Obama could be considered anti-Christmas if he had attended such a public display.
Galen called his bluff as he mocked the lengths CNN was willing to go to defend Obama. "CNN just couldn't be more on one side of this thing," he attested while laughing. Galen did relent to Blitzer's point that CNN had given Perry a voice by playing his campaign ad, but continued to insist that the network was biased.
Later on, Blitzer kept defending Obama as he told Galen to watch the full hour of the Christmas pageant and "You'll see if this President has a war on religion." Galen responded that "CNN has a war on Republicans is the issue."
A transcript of the segment, which aired on December 12 at 4:41 p.m. EST, is as follows:

He sits in Jeremiah Wright's church or works with William Ayers and any mention of that is "guilt by association".
Guess we'll find out next year how divisive the liberals are as they attack republicans for mentioning practically anything about Obama.
wolf arguing for the President proves the point. the same way Stephanopolous corrected the president on his ‘christian faith’ and the softballs obama gets from the press if he get’s any balls at all.
Yes. From the sewer of Chicago politics, several governors and reps and assorted state pols are in prison. Somehow, Hussein emerged “lily white” clean from the same source.
Twenty years of “God Damn America”, sure seals the deal for me. He’s undoubtedly one of the best Christians I’ve ever heard of. /s
This is a moron that claimed Islam played a fundamental role in the foundation of our nation, no mention of the Christian God in there.
You’ve just got to shake your head at this f-up.
CNN biased? Next thing you know someone will try and claim that water is wet.
Everyone — The Right, The Middle, Independents — needs to start fighting the Mainstream Media. The MSM are powerful allies of The Left and protect them from legitimate criticism.
The biggest problem is that the Establishment Republicans are afraid of the MSM. They have been bashed too many times by them in the past. The Establishment Republicans have become cowards. They are afraid to speak out forcefully. They form their strategies and policies assuming that they have to dodge the attacks of the MSM. During the debt limit extension debate last July, the Establishment Republicans — Ann Coulter, Brett Hume, Bill O’Reilly, etc — wanted to cave. It was the Tea Party who forced them to show some courage and hold the line.
It’s the “People Who Don’t Pay Attention” who are destroying our country. They are the ones who believe the propaganda of the MSM and vote based on misinformation. We will not reach these people until we start fighting and forcefully speaking out against the MSM every chance we get.
With the popularity of FoxNews and talk radio, and a strong message about free enterprise versus big government, we can make a breakthrough in 2012, but the Establishment Republicans need to show some courage.
.
I think it is funny that CNN is so damaged now that their guests openly mock them. Good to see.
"I'll take 'Nonsequiturs only a complete dumbass could find
persuasive' for a million, Alex!"
Man, vicious low blow.
Post more.
So can we expect the National Day of Prayer to be reinstated, Obama?
Bill OReilly an establishment Republican? Surely you jest. At the least, he claims to be Independent, but is (more than) obviously a closet Lefty.
I'm perfectly serious. If he is not an Establishment Republican, he is surely spun like a top by them.
.
Best of the day !...the WEEK !! Precious.
Hard to believe that Wolf can say that with a straight face.
I found a video of the segment that has no direct link to it embedded here at the bottom:

LOL! I'd love to hear someone refer to his Jeopardy score during an interview!
I actually watched that episode. Blitzer is dumb as a bag of hammers. I could have rocked that board in 6th grade.
