Issa Demands Answers on 'Occupy' Camping in D.C.

Rep. Darrell Issa wants an explanation from the Obama administration about why Occupy protesters were allowed to put up tents in McPherson Square Park in Washington, D.C., in what he insisted was a violation of a ban on “camping” in the nation’s capital.

The California Republican, who chairs the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, complained in a letter Tuesday to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar that $400,000 in recent landscaping upgrades to the park had been damaged by the “illegal camping” of Occupy participants.

According to a press release issued by his office, Issa asked Salazar to explain “a series of decisions that allowed protesters to stay in tents at the park for extended periods of time.”

Issa also asked the secretary to provide documentation of any communications that took place between the Department of Interior and the White House “regarding the Occupy protests in McPherson Square.”

Another short article. Issa wants White House communications so he can find out if Obama told OWS they can break the law and camp there!

Issa should run for President in the near future.

He’s going to be the man who destroyed the Obama administration.

Taxpayer dollars resodded the place and then the filthy squatters destroyed it.

I thought we had laws against destroying public property.

Are they still there? Sounds like it.

Also something about a hunger strike in another article. I hope they starve to death. Imbeciles (no insult intended to actual imbeciles).

I was so sad when he lost his bid to be governor of CA. I think he is fabulous... Smart, well spoken.

Easy way to stop the occupiers: zip-tie their hands and feet and throw them off the pier.

Treat them EXACTLY as the “Bonus Army” protesters were treated.
It’s not like we don’t have a precedent.

Put it in pay-per-view to recoup the cost of repairs.

Issa is a bulldog. It took him five minutes to draft this letter, and now it will take obamanoids hours of headache in trying to hide one more set of ugly facts.

Issa is a bulldog.

...if only he had that 'follow through' thing going for him - which he doesn't.

We've gotten lots of flares since the 2010 election, but no results. None, zip, nada, nary a nary.

It is rather amazing how simply helpless representatives and senators actually are. People who testify commit perjury with absolutely no fear of punishment.

Hardly a major issue. I'm sure he can handle this with ease.

Frankly, he's asking the wrong question. He should have asked WHY the Regime protected the Occupy..... gangsters from the public ~ many would have given them well-deserved beat downs for their attempt to burn down the Smithsonian.

Why weren't OUR free speech rights respected by this lawless bunch of pukes.

unless you do steroids, then you’re toast....it’s just like cops would rather sit in front of the local watering hole and get an easy DUI instead of kicking in the door of the local crack house....Christ,those people have guns and stuff...

The Occupukes are part of a larger plan, funded, planned and organized by ACORN founder, Soros funded organizations, various Communist groups, at least one former Weathermen associate of AYers, and of course unions. The Occupukes are being trained up for more violent stuff, they have a big anarchy segment too. So far though the useful idiots they roped in have been very idiotic.

It’s much more than the tattooed public masturbating nutkooks in photos.
