Huston has a screen capture that shows the Hammerman post before he scrubbed it of its offensive passage.
One Rabbi Joshua Hammerman, a columnist for The Jewish Week, went off the deep end into a cesspool of anti-Tim Tebow derangement in his December 12 post, "My Tim Tebow" problem.
Former NewsBuster Warner Todd Huston noted the most offensive passage of Hammerman's screed at the website HoosierAccess.com. This paragraph has since been scrubbed from Hammerman's post:
If Tebow wins the Super Bowl, against all odds, it will buoy his faithful, and emboldened faithful can do insane things, like burning mosques, bashing gays and indiscriminately banishing immigrants. While America has become more inclusive since Jerry Falwell’s first political forays, a Tebow triumph could set those efforts back considerably.
It's so laughably absurd you'd think this were from The Onion. But Hammerman appears to be dead serious, even in his sanitized post, where grafs like these make clear Hammerman is a) a die-hard Boston sports fan and b) mentally unbalanced:
I admire much of what Tebow stands for. His mom’s decision to risk her own life rather than abort her fetus flies against my own – and Judaism’s – values, but neither am I pro-choice in all cases. His story is so improbable that if he were to win it all, a part of me would be wondering whether there is a Purpose behind it, just as I saw a divine hand in the equally unbelievable Red Sox victory of 2004. And it makes me wonder whether other Jews, the ones who don’t happen to have advanced degrees in religion and a few decades of rabbinic experience, might be even more seduced by this unfolding drama.

I don't believe they will beat the Patriots this Sunday. Brady embarrassed himself against Washington last Sunday. If he puts fewer than 28 points up in the first half, I'll be shocked. I love the Tebow story; I love even more what he does to the haters every time he pulls of a comeback. Problem is, as bad as the NE defense is, our offense stands every chance of putting a comeback well out of reach, even for Tebow. Granted, NE does not play well in Denver, so all I will say is, it will be a game not to be missed.

The Lions get Suh back for the season — that should make all the Tebow drones reach for their betablockers — and have managed to remain in wild card contention, in part thanks to Tim Tebow and the Broncos, who put Chicago a game back. Only the Falcons now.

Despite the background of the dork writing the article, I’d still do all I could to prevent those dastardly right wingers from damaging a synagogue.
Rabbi Hammerhead is like all libs after 9/11 who predicted right-wingers would go around and massacre Muslims. It never happened.
