Criticizing government policy is not the same as “slamming America” If it were, we here would be the biggest slammers.

For some historical perspective 2007 campaign:
In interviews, Paul, a U.S. congressman from Texas, often says that he doesn’t endorse the views of all of his supporters or donors.
Continued -In an interview with Neil Cavuto from Fox News on Dec. 19, Paul addressed the question of returning a $500 donation from white supremacist Ron Black, the founder of Stormfront: “Why give it back to him for bad purposes? I don’t even know his name. … He sent the money for my beliefs. … If he is promoting my viewpoints and my attitudes, why give it back to him when he has bad viewpoints and I don’t endorse anything he endorses?”
It is this distancing that has upset White. In his letter, White continues:
