Bravo! Never imagined a volatile Hollywood megastar was capable of a subtle, modest, yet powerful pro-life protest. Amazing video. Thank you, Mr. Bale.
Well, he is a Christian after all. ;^)
After watching a video of this guy losing it when a set worker accidentally walked through one of his shoots I see him bringing attention to this cause plus getting his butt kicked as a win/win.
This thread is useless without Pix.
This reminds me, I have to return some videotapes.
People say that China will be a threat, this has made sure that they are the worst threat to themselves.
Seriously, how many of you would really like to see a Christian Bale working as the manager at McDonalds when you get through the drive-thru only to notice that ONCE AGAIN, the idiots have messed up your order.
As the owner of a business I have zero tolerance for people who haven’t got the emotional control to refrain from losing it like he did, especially considering he really is nothing but a (very well) paid employee and not the boss anyway. Had it been the 3rd time this guy had done it then a small outburst is understandable perhaps, but listening to him go off like that under any circumstances shows what kind of a guy he really is.
The measure of a man isn’t how he treats his equals, its how he treats those whom he sees beneath him. No one deserves to be humiliated like that in public, a real man would have called him aside and done it 1 on 1 in private behind a closed door.
If one of my guys ever went off and acted like he did to someone under him on the floor he would get a single, lifetime warning that if it ever happened again his ass and his toolbox would be thrown out my door and I don’t care how key of an employee he or she is.
You're right ... fair is fair ...
Sorry, ... I just couldn't help myself. ;-)
Here ya' go ...
3:10 to Yuma
It was actually directed at a director of photography, not a set worker. Perhaps he was upset with the horrid "Terminator: Salvation" script, or the fact that the director "McG" had only done music videos and 'Charlies Angels' films.
One of the best things that ever happened to me at work was when I was about 23 working at a Foot Locker and the manager pulled me in the back and gave me a viscious scolding. He only let out one cuss and tried to pull it back, but he was extremely heated. He also did the right thing in taking it to a private place. But it stuck with me to this day, and I am a much better person and worker for having had my ass handed to me.
You are right though, the public outburst and the uncontrolled profanity are unprofessional. Even as an NCO in the Army I had to control my language and I always performed counseling in private.
I haven’t seen it yet, but if its anything like Charlies Angels then I don’t think I’m missing much.
Still, he signed the contract after reading the script and cashed the checks, so ultimately he can’t blame anyone else I guess.
Ours is a family business I own now, growing up I even dodged a few wrenches heaved my way and swore I would never allow that to happen, and it hasn’t. I agree that a good dressing down can do wonders though, but he flew off the handle which is never acceptable to me. The only time I let anger slip a little more than a curt word or “the look” is when I am lied to by an employee or a mistake is so idiotic that its inexcusable. Hasn’t needed to happen much, but yeah, sitting someone down behind a closed door and explaining the facts of life to them n no uncertain terms can be beneficial to both parties.
I didn’t realize Bale was a pro-life supporter.
