Mark Burnett wants to take “Survivor” back to the Middle East. The CBS reality series — which wraps its 23rd season Sunday night — was forced to abruptly relocate from Wadi Rum, Jordan to the Marquesas Islands following the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. Since then, most American productions have avoided the region completely — mostly out of concern for safety. “I would love nothing more than to be hanging out in Wadi Rum shooting ‘Survivor,’ ” Burnett tells The Post. “We would do the same thing we were planning. We would build an oasis in the middle of the desert and make it ‘Survivor: Arabia.’ ” The “lost season” of “Survivor” was abandoned just eight weeks before cameras were set to roll.

Wait till CBS gets the projected security costs for shooting the series in the Middle East...it will be back to another tropical island before you know it.
Of course, they could tape in Israel, with complete security. But the media would go bonkers. Jordan’s borders aren’t as secure as you might believe, and there are plenty of terrorist groups who would love to shoot up an American TV production, and embarrass King Abdullah in the process.
Yepper, do it at the Iran-Iraq border, I hear that that is spectacular country there. I even know of 3 experts who can give you some good pointers.
Hell ya, take ‘em back. Make hunting down terrorists and suicide bombers part of the show.
If it were me I think I’d give it a few more years before choosing this location unless they’re planning on making it another reunion show.
