With President Obama and his family headed to Hawaii for a long vacation, the Hawaii Reporter takes a look at the cost to taxpayers and concludes this year's trip is more expensive that previous trips:
The advanced trip and the cost that comes with it – as much as $100,000 (flight and security) – adds to an already expensive vacation for the taxpayers.
Hawaii Reporter research shows the total cost for the President’s visit for taxpayers far exceeded $1.5 million in 2010 – but is even more costly this year because he extended his vacation by three days and the cost for Air Force One travel has jumped since last assessed in 2000. In addition, Hawaii Reporter was able to obtain more specifics about the executive expenditures.
The total cost (based on what is known) for the 17-day vacation roundtrip vacation to Hawaii for the President, his family and staff has climbed to more than $4 million.

AF1 costs may now be in limbo, with markets wondering if Keystone will actually be built after yesterday's congressional omnibus bill, or will resume its rise and zer0's agenda continues to prevent oil drilling, oil refining, oil anything.

Yes, the “evil” Bush had the audacity to go to his ranch near Waco, Texas....Now who in their right mind would want to take a vacation to Waco, Texas, or even live there. I went to Waco once, saw the Texas Ranger Museum and then got back on the interstate and drove for what seemed days and days to get out of the state and back to civilization in Arkansas.
We ought to enjoy the fact that Obimama has the good sense to get out of the continental US for a couple of weeks and closer to his home in Indonesia.
Wouldn’t it be a hoot if our government refused to pay the vacation bills? Have presidents always had carte blanc for vacations? It seems as though most of them just went home or to Camp David for a little R and R. EWhy is O. allowed such wide abuse of power?

First, Obama doesn’t recognize Christmas as a Holiday. Second, I guess I should be thankful he didn’t go home to Kenya for Christmas.

$ 4 million is a paltry sum to insure that THIS time Obama’s “original” certificate of birth is counterfeited to perfection.
