This is troubling. That half of all voters won't vote for Gingrich in November and he trails Obama by 10-points.

That half of all voters won't vote for Gingrich in November and he trails Obama by 10-points. When they are seen side by side in a debate, that deficit will go away before the credits run.

Reagan trailed Carter until September before the election.

Newt remains the brightest and the best of the candidates we have t pick from. Once Republicans pick a candidate to run against zero everyone will unite and it will be a whole different world. Too much at stake this time.

If Gingrich wants to win, he needs to hit the gym, eat a high-energy, high-protein, low carb diet, and look more “virile” next to Bambi.
Remember, Reagan’s gym pic that was on the cover of Parade Magazine? The age and energy issue disappeared after that issue.

Don't mean shit. Gingrich was in single digits among republicans, until the debates. Not that many rats and indies watching the parade so far. Wait until the Main Event. Newt will take care of business.
To: Steelfish
Right now Obama has the whole democrat party supporting him while Newt is still in the primaries without a vote even cast yet.

Take a look at the Gingrich-related comments here on what is probably the premier conservative website, and see if more then 50% favor Gingrich.

Well, I bet half of them wouldn´t vote for Romney, either. That would be my half...

Try as you may, you will NOT be able to editorialize Romney into the general race either.

The way this thing read Newt can win the Primary, but not the election.
What makes MSNBC so sure that Romney can win the electorate.
The fact is they are spouting BS,because they want Romney as our candidate. They know they can beat Romney, Newt is an unknown. This is MSNBC people , think about that. They want Romney. They are the enemy.
Romney cannot win the electorate any better than Newt can. For every Republican voter who says they will not vote for Newt there is a Republican voter who says they will not vote for Romney. Fact is we will vote for Ben Dover before we will vote for Obama.Do not let MSNBC fool you, Newt frightens them. Romney doesn’t.

I know you wanted this to be a discouraging post for Newt supporters, but it is miles beyond what I expected. The fact that he is equal with Obama, when Obama has had as much fawning press as Newt has had vicious press, makes this number astounding. Once the party gets behind him totally, focuses on Obama, like they should have been all along, and AFTER the debates, I think Newt is headed to 1600. This heartens me.

If the infighting amongst conservatives doesn't stop,we WILL be stuck with someone we don't want-0bama.That should be the main goal-getting this regime out of power and shutting his agenda down, once and for all.
Look at the field of candidates we have before us now. Unless something changes after the first part of the year,we will be stuck with Gingrich, like it or not.
No one wants Romney...Santorum and Bachmann are so far back it ain't even funny...Perry is gaffing his way to oblivion....and we won't even mention Ron Paul.
So..who else is there? What do we do?
I want Allen West. I want Sarah Palin. They are the only true conservatives with conviction, courage and faith that can hold their own and stand strong against withering opposition and attacks. But they're not available. So we work with what we have.
I'm trying to be realistic. It is what it is.
