WASHINGTON (AP) -- In mid-1970 an unusual job application landed in the stack of resumes at West Georgia College.
A young man finishing up his Ph.D. and looking for his first teaching job ditched the standard resume-and-cover-letter approach and instead wrote about his travels abroad, what it meant to grow up as the son of an Army colonel, the 100-plus books he'd read in the past year.
"We were all very impressed," recalls Mel Steely, one of the history professors who culled applications.
Thus did Newt Gingrich become Professor Gingrich. It was Step 1 in a carefully laid plan that would propel the 27-year-old father of two from Carrollton to Congress within eight years, on an audacious quest, as he saw it, to save Western civilization.

At least Newt has a past to look into, unlike the current president. For being the current persident, we know very little about obama’s checkered past. Maybe the people should throw that back into the media’s face and see what their answer is.

As a writer for “Youth for Western Civilization,” we dislike Newt (because of his support for amnesty and open borders) more than any other candidate in the presidential race.
Wow! That is a great comeback! Ann Coulter was just on “Redeye” on Fox and said “You know Newt is crazy don’t you?” Mark Levin predicted there is going to be an effort to paint him as crazy. These low lifes are willing to sell their souls to get Romney across the line.
The Democratic Party’s Office of Public Propaganda, aka “the media,” will invariably go after the Republican frontrunner unless that frontrunner is a RINO. It comes with the territory.
Newt’s an Old Trouper; let’s hope he can weather the storm.
