What do you not like about Perry?...other than the Rudy endorsement which was better than a McCain endorsement.
As for the endorsements, I honestly don't care who someone has endorsed, as I've also stated over and over again. But it seems to be that those who DO make the biggest fuss (as has been done by the some Perrywinkles on FR) are also the ones who are first to point our who every else has endorsed.
So if you insist on bringing up who other candidates have endorsed, you Perry folks be prepared for the same treatment- and defend the endorsement.
Need I remind you of the Rudy purge that happened in 2008?
You posted the article. I think Perry's endorsement has been defended. I didn't vote for McCain in the 2008 primary.
I haven't read everything you have written about Perry and really don't know why you hate him so. Perry is more consistently conservative than Newt and is tougher on illegal immigration.
Where's the beef?
Certainly it has been defended, and it was defensible.
I don’t know if the video contains the necessary info or not, as to why the endorsement. The truth is it wasn’t just because of Rudy as an executive, although he had shown executive ability.
Rather than endorse Romney, Huckabee or McCain, he chose Rudy because of his stated belief that he was the best available candidate to lead the War on Terror. With that I agree.
Perry had asked for and received Rudy’s pledge that he would appoint strict constructionist judges to federal courts, without regard to whether their rulings would fit his personal issue preferences. Without that, the endorsement would not have happened.
McCain has made a complete hash out of the “torture” issue as it relates to techniques used such as waterboarding.
He has done much more harm than good, and I have always believed the man is compromised because he will never recover from his POW experieces.
Too bad we had such a poor choice that year. I did not support McCain. I supported the McCain-Palin ticket and held my nose and said a prayer over the McCain part.
My only critique of Perry is, wish he hadn’t endorsed anyone because the available candidate choices were so poor and the endorsement has been used against him by his declared enemies.
But if he planned to endorse anyone, and the WOT was his number one issue, I see why he picked Rudy for that.
To Rick’s friends and to his enemies:

As to who endorsed who in the last election it was McCain, Guiliani or Romney. Nobody should have endorsed anyone, but each had their reasons for choosing who they chose.
