Did ESPN's Chris Berman Cry Over Tebow Ten Minute Film?
Vanity | 12-17-2011 | Self

I just saw the most stunning thing: ESPN's pre game show for the NFL just ran a ten minute clip of last week's Chicago-Denver football game featuring Tim Tebow (he wore mic for the game).

It was an amazing goose bump film, but the most amazing thing was the result of the normally hard panned ESPN crew of Chris Berman, Mike Ditka, Chris Carter, Keyshawn Johnson and Tom Jackson.

I think they were all on the verge of tears. Chris Berman could barely get the conversation going when the film was over. Am I imagining this?

(will post a video as soon as one hits - this was hot off the wire)

In just 15 words you showed you can irrelevant, off subject, snarky and ugly all in one sentence - not to be incorrect.

But thanks for your magnificent contribution.

Last week's game was just astounding. I'm looking forward to today's, which begins in about an hour.

I'm a Patriots fan, but this game will be interesting, regardless of who wins.

Proof positive that the only stat that really matters in the NFL is the W.

Tim is a nice kid and I wish him well at Denver.

That said, one of my recent sports highlights was Alabama beating Florida for the SEC Championship in December 2009. You remember...the one where Tim cried as time ran out?

ROLL TIDE!

The people who have played or coached recognized what a leader Tebow has become to his team.

Oh look, you had a thought. Bet it was lonely. Next time trolling through the keyboard warrior store, consider purchasing a sense of humor. Your friends will thank you for it.

Actually, that was such a poor attempt at humor I didn’t recognize it as an attempt at humor. I mean it was really awful.

On the other hand, I’ve ghost written humor for one of the best known political humorist in the world for three years now. Mathematically speaking, chances are you have heard much of my work and laughed at it (as delivered by someone else).

I would only beg of you not to quit your day job.

Seriously, your post came off as catty and nasty and not funny at all.

No worries, mate. Just read a column by you and was very impressed. I enjoy tossing the occasional zingers to get a rise. I tend towards the cynical. My comment was dark, as I've reached my limit on the coverage comparing an average QB like Tebow to the greats of the game like Brady. Tim is a fantastic person and motivator; but he should be a tight end.

I would only beg of you not to quit your day job.

Seeing as you're so concerned...not to toot my own horn, but I've authored several books and had one accidentally manage to crack the Amazon top 100 a few years ago. What were the people thinking?

(Writing wasn't my career...I have too much time on my hands.) I retired young and travel often. As far as zingers, amongst British expats, (zingers) is known as taking the piss....a sport they take quite seriously. One can fraternize and imbibe umbrella drinks staring at the ocean, pulling each others chain for hours...or a decade, apparently. : )

Yes, I am concerned about his emotional strength.

I don't know how he is going to handle a string of losses, which is common in the NFL.

That will be the real test for him, not coming back in individual games.
