Baghdad (CNN) -- Iraq's Judicial Committee issued an arrest warrant Monday for Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi, who is accused of orchestrating bombing attacks.
The warrant was issued under "Article 4," which is terrorism.
The Interior Ministry, at a news conference, showed what it called confession videos from people identified as security guards for al-Hashimi, the country's Sunni vice president. In the videos, the men described various occasions in which they purportedly carried out attacks under direct orders from al-Hashimi.
One man said he carried out assassination attempts using roadside bombs and guns with silencers. He said the orders came from the vice president and at times through the director of his office.
CNN could not immediately confirm that the men in the videos were bodyguards for al-Hashimi.
Three of the vice president's security guards were detained earlier this month.
Al-Hashimi's office did not answer calls from CNN Monday.

That's what I figured. Let the purge begin.

Like I said we should have done at the start: Nuke ‘em from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.
After all, he's been so outspoken in defense of his vision to reshape the Middle East as a pluralistic society and warned of what might happen should American troops be withdrawn completely.
He was a mediocre president.
All the "if Allah wills it" attitude means that there are few people willing to take initiative to initiate self-government, and the tribal attitude means that few are willing to do anything for the benefit of the nation, rather than the clan.
It's embarrassing to think we were silly enough to believe a finger dipped in purple ink for a vote could counter a 1400 year blood lust.
But hey, we tried. We even gave the presidency to one of them.
The blood lust is actually more than I thought.
After all, he's been so outspoken in defense of his vision to reshape the Middle East as a pluralistic society and warned of what might happen should American troops be withdrawn completely.
With an extraordinary spending habit. He still is too.
Sorry for the double post, FR was getting unruly with "bad data" pages.
“Post-Clausewitzian Variations”
Sounds like a postmodern composition by say, Leos Janacek
or Paul Hindemith..
Fast and furious, Arabian style.
Well, hey, THAT didn’t take long, did it???
Everything Obama touches turn to sh*t, doesn’t it?
Simply amazing....
Great graphic.
Next on the Marxist in the white-hut agenda, Afghanistan, Iraq and Jordan.
“He was a mediocre president.”

Even mediocre is almost infinitely superior to what we now have!
Actually, he was a great President. History will record that he conquered Baghdad. That is an accomplishment about which many have dreamed but very few have accomplished.
The fact he did not accomplish all the goals of a sanctimonious self righteous conservative agenda is actually irrelevant.
That is where your view and mine differ. Merely conquering a foreign capitol is no justification for ‘greatness,’ be it Bagdad or Moscow or any other legendarily resistant place. The “sanctimonous self righteous conservative agenda” is undergirded by our values, and those values are what separate us as a free and good people from simply another of history’s bullies who can conquer at will.
True.
And to think we coulda turned Iraqi Muslims into good Walmart shopping Christians!
