The VP is Sunni, the PM is Shi’ite...even if the charges are legitimate, it will be seen as the Shi’ite leader attempting to remove his most powerful Sunni opponents. There’s already accusations of forced confessions, etc. This will quickly degenerate into sectarian strife of one kind or another.

The Kurds practice sunni islam as well, but they’ve always been hated for being kurds. They also may practice a different rite of sunni than do the arab sunnis. I don’t know.
If they came together, it would increase their chances of survival.
I expect to see a general house-cleaning in Iraq.

It's been their way of life for millennia, and there's no reason to think it will change unto the end of time.
