Questions raised over poll giving Ron Paul the lead in Iowa

ccording to a new poll by Public Policy Polling, Ron Paul has taken the lead in Iowa with 23 percent, followed by Mitt Romney at 20 percent and Newt Gingrich at 14 percent.

But questions have arisen about the poll, indicating it may be what pollsters call an "outlier."

Ed Morrissey of Hot Air, for example, questions PPP's definition of "likely" caucus-goers:

*snip*

Paul would also find himself coming under the same intense scrutiny that other GOP front-runners have experienced. No doubt that criticism will cause heads to explode among Paul's more strident supporters who view anyone critical of the Texas Congressman as unpatriotic, warmongering "neo-cons."

"Paul's indiscretions -- such as abiding 9/11 conspiracy theorists and allowing racist material in a newsletter published under his name -- will be blown up to paint a scary caricature. His belief in state's rights and property rights will be distorted into support for Jim Crow and racism," wrote Tim Carney of the Washington Examiner, who admits that some of Paul's trangressions "reflect badly on Paul."

Told ya...

Paul's the Establishment useful idiot whose sole purpose is to take the Not Romney. The long knives will come out for him when he has ceased to be useful (Ron Paul Newsletter, 9/11 truthers, etc.)

So what's it going to be Iowa? You going to give it to Romney or what?

I’m pretty sure PPP has been hired by dailyKos, so put their polling data where it belongs, in the round file.

It is best not to be near the top in Iowa because they like to surprise.

The Lefties would love nothing better than to propel Ron Paul to the top in these early primaries. The best they could do is to cause him to win the nomination. Of course, it would be a nomination that was least likely to defeat Obama.

"Binjo ditch?"

LMAO!

Boy does that term bring back (nearly) 50 year old memories, while serving in the USAF and stationed at Tachikawa AFB, in Japan in the early 60's.

They had a pretty good sized one (about 10' across) around the base and you could always tell when some airman (who had imbided in one too many beers tried to jump it for fun--and usually failed) as you could smell them a mile away when they came back to the barracks.

Tanks' for the memories!

I figured there'd be a few vets out there. Actually was expecting a gyrene or two, since we all ended up in a binjo once or twice.

Air Force? Geez, I thought they only drank champagne and chardonnay ;

Public Policy Polling (PPP) is an American Democratic Party-affiliated polling firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina.[1][2][3] PPP was founded in 2001 by businessman and Democratic pollster Dean Debnam, the firm’s current president and chief executive officer....

False poll to save zero butt!!
