The best way for Noot to get back on track is to disavow the “I’m a Wilsonian” stuff, address the individual mandate issue, and in short, re-establish his conservative bonafide

really, you would fall for that, ok i bet he does that, gains your confidence and others then he turns around and does the opposite

Well, I don’t get that will Robottney, so I’m sticking with Newt.

Second that. What I’ve learned is that as American people, we truly seem to have no one on our side. All of the so-called conservatives on Fox are in the tank, all these talking heads are in it ...i think we need to stop relying ont hem and just get out and support our candidates with our votes, with our groundwork, and just ignore the rest. Most of them are just establishment groupies. We can see it now very clearly.

The big advantage Newt has over Santorum is that Newt has shown he can articulate the conservative message in a way that educates the public and perhaps persuades them. That is the one major thing we have been lacking in all our presidential candidates since Reagan. We need to change hearts and minds in this country. The media and educational system has driven people further left than arguably they have ever been. Even if Newt lost, we will have made gains in educating people about conservative thought.

His biggest con is the fact that his current marriage is to a woman who he apparently admitted was his mistress for several years during his previous marriage. I do feel that is the type of baggage that has the potential to turn off women voters. At some point Callista is going to face the media as a potential First Lady and the optics on this don’t look good. I’m also not sure if Newt’s previous wives have ever given interviews or if they might be brought out by the media to criticize Newt in the campaign. Since we’re most likely going to win on the issues, this other stuff is where the media is going to look for weaknesses.

O’Reilly gave Romney a tough interview last night. He said he was trying to schedule a Newt interview for tonight. IMO, O’Reilly and Hannity have been fair to both of them. I think Hannity prefers Newt as a candidate overall. I think O’Reilly likes Newt best on substance, but is leaning to Romney on electability.

Today someone asked Bill Bennett if he would endorse a candidate. Bennett has been very outspoken in saying Newt is not electable. Today though he said his audience is definitely favoring Newt and he is torn between supporting the candidate he agrees with most of the time and supporting one he thinks is more electable.

I think people need to make a stronger case for Newt being electable. Read “Overestimating Romney” on the Weekly Standard site, which shows Romney has never demonstrated electability or popularity with voters. People are also putting all their eggs in the basket of the economy with Romney, but what if the Supreme Court overturns Obamacare in the Spring and businesses rejoice and start hiring? The economy could look much improved by November. Remember what happened with McCain? We nominated a national security conservative and when the issue switched to the economy he got slaughtered. We need a candidate who can switch gears and show credibility on any issue. Newt has the experience and gravitas to do that.

Awesome! Then I guess I won’t have to drive down to Iowa from Pennsylvania and twist your arm after all!

I think we should all get fully informed on the candidates and then go with our gut. Most likely our gut is going to be similar to other people’s guts in the general election. We shouldn’t overthink things and get so strategic with our voting that we become like heartless calculating robots.
