Last year my brother called me telling me that his son - just out of the Navy - had sawed off the tips of two fingers in a machine shope. As his son was an aspiring young guitarist he (and my brother) were devastated.

I happened to have read an article here on Free Republic a year earlier about a gentleman who had lost a finger tip and who's brother was involved in R&D on this "pig bladder pixie dust" for regenerating human tissue. The story went on to say that, using this pig bladder treatment, he had grown his finger tip back.

While on the phone with my brother I searched the Internet and found an article about the incident. Within an hour my brother was on the phone with the gentleman, and learned that the process was under trial at the VA in Texas.

To make a long story short my nephew now has two perfect, new, completely functional fingertips - and playing guitar like a pro!
