House Seeks Full-Year Payroll Tax Relief Extension to Help Families & Job Creators Posted by Don Seymour on December 20, 2011
Today the House of Representatives will seek to extend payroll tax relief for a full year to help families and job creators by moving to a formal conference committee that can resolve the differences between the House and Senate-passed bills.
Early last week, the House passed a reasonable, responsible bill that extends payroll tax relief for a full year, reforms and extends unemployment insurance, and includes a two-year doc fix while also advancing bipartisan measures that support private-sector job creation exactly what the president asked us to do, noted Speaker Boehner.
Senate Democrats, on the other hand, proposed a short-term two-month payroll tax cut extension that non-partisan tax experts call unworkable and say could create substantial problems, confusion, and costs for job creators. Thats why the House will vote today to reject the short-term Senate proposal and appoint conferees to hammer out an agreement between the House and the Senate.
This chart from the House Ways & Means Committee compares the House and Senate-passed bills:

,......what happened to the Keystone pipeline...?
Can someone explain why the Dems want to extend it for only 2 mos, as opposed to a full year?

Election ,they want to play with this all year long ,they think it’s going to help them
Thank you both so much! Freepers are the best!
“The bill accelerates a decision on the Keystone XL energy pipeline, requiring, within 60 days, for the permit to be granted unless the president determines the project is not in the national interest. The measure will create thousands of American jobs and increase America’s energy security. Similar legislation passed the House with bipartisan support earlier this year.”

Job creators where? Here or in China where the job creators have been busy for 10 years.
Option three.. anytime they want to pass “middle class” legislation, they get to attach fun new laws and spending. Who wouldn’t want to get some new pork every two months. It is about time the House stood up, now they need to speak loudly, cuz they are still losing the dialogue.
The conferees: Camp, Upton, Brady (TX), Walden, Price (GA), Reed, Ellmers, and Hayworth.
... if any Senators deem the payroll tax cuts are worthy of interrupting their precious vacations to attend!
How quickly can this be put through?
