This is only my own personal theory, but I believe that part of the cause of Perry’s collapse among conservatives is that he brought up the Obama birth/life narrative question *and didn’t follow through*. My guess is that he isn’t well acquainted with the myriad questions surrounding the “Obama” life narrative, and the birth narrative in particular, since such a supremely important constitutional question is involved, and he simply threw the subject out there in a cheap political ploy to garner Tea Party support. If he had done his homework, he could have been the one to finally force the issue on the national stage for some kind of resolution. It doesn’t speak well of his character that he would bring up the “Obama” birth narrative and not be prepared to back his skepticism up by pointing out the almost completely nonexistent verifiable paper trail on this guy’s entire life, including how, where and by whom it began.
