Romney: $40 Would Make a ‘Substantial Difference’ to American Families (Romney covers for Zero)

LANCASTER, N.H. – Mitt Romney today said that the $40 many Americans would lose if the payroll tax holiday isn’t extended would make a “very substantial difference” to those who would be without it.

“It’ll be the difference between having a meal that includes meat or just Hamburger Helper,” said Romney in an interview with ABC News’ John Berman aboard his new campaign bus in northern New Hampshire. “It could be the difference between being able to take your family to McDonald’s at the end of the week. It means the difference between being able to go to a movie or not going to a movie.”

“It makes a real difference to the American people,” he said.

“Wait until January when those people start thinking they’re going to have $40 MORE in their paychecks and don’t! Soon they’ll be protesting that they are being cheated.”

—That’s what I was thinking. The casual newswatcher probably thinks they are getting a $40 raise in their paycheck. Not only will there be no change, but their health insurance probably went up.

I wonder how many people will care when SS goes belly up that much earlier because of this “tax cut”?

The sooner, the better!

Why the U.S. was downgraded: • U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000

• Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000

• New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000

• National debt: $14,271,000,000,000

• Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000

Let's now remove 8 zeros and pretend it's a household budget:

• Annual family income: $21,700

• Money the family spent: $38,200

• New debt on the credit card: $16,500

• Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710

• Total budget cuts: $385

Got it?

$40 bucks?

Wonderful! The “boil it down” in understandable terms, I mean. Wish I had a program to turn that into a poster!

Oromma or Rabama, six of one, half a dozen of the other, and zero is what you get. What is $40 compared to what Americans are spending on gas or at the store because of Obama? What about health insurance increases for the disappearing middle class?

$40 might buy a handle of my favorite brown liquor! Which I’ll need to numb the sting of the GOP’s latest FAIL.

FUMR!

QUESTION:

Is it "Fuzzy Math" or "Voodoo Economics?"

How in hell does $1,000/yr (which our FASCIST, Neo-Commie, Dear Leader, had been touting as saving the average person)...

....add up to $40.00 a week?

I may be nuttin' but a Poor, Ignorant, Trailer Trash, Right Wing, Extremist, Clinger (who just happens to have an MBA, been a financial planner and have had several businesses)....

...but unless I am mistaken (not likely, as we Freepers as are rarely wrong.. lol) $40/wk adds up to $2,080 a year.

So, I ask, wassup wid' dat'???

With all due respect which I am confident you know I have for you, Romney is certainly an idiot but so are Boehner and McConnell and the House and Senate GOP leadership. Control of the House is sufficient to play brinksmanship every bit as much as do Obozo and the Senate.

Even without the House, the Senate GOP could easily refrain from crawling into the gutter with Harry Reid and playing an endless game of "Let's Make a Deal" at the expense of GOP principles. Watch what a Demonrat minority will do after the GOP takes control of the Senate in 2012.

With control of the House, the House can refuse to consider Senate Demonrat proposals just as Reid refuses to consider GOP House bills. Further, money bills are supposed to start in the House.

As per usual spineless excuses for GOP "leaders" like Boehner and McConnell are at their very best showing how they lose by not fighting while the Demonrats take them to the woodshed every time and laugh at them in public at will.

At first, I only want two things out of Boehner and McConnell: their resignations as leaders and their resignations from Congress ASAP. Then I want them to be as silent as ave been former speakers Foley and Wright and Hastert and former senate leader Dole. They hyave demonstrated that they have no constructive role to play in American public life. They are creatures of the most corrupt GOP contributors. They think their only job is the coddling of zillionaires and that the interests of the GOP are served by ignoring all those embarrassing pro-lifers and pro-family folks and gun guys and taxpayer activists who just do refuse to understand the absolute need of the leaders to pad their grandchildren's trust funds with insider trading profits and payoffs.

These are the same slime who moved heaven and earth and threatened their dissenting caucus members with retaliation in order to give Obozo his desperately desired election year $2.5 trillion increase in his allowance (raising the debt limit) to pay off all the usual suspects.

They have vetoed the demands of the Tea Party activists who gave them the biggest mid-term Congressional victory in 75 years or so.

Finally, this "payroll tax reduction" actually speeds the insolvency of Social Security. It is a terrible policy on that basis alone. They SHOULD have attacked the Democrats for undermining Social Security and used the opportunity to demand fiscal accountability for the waste of SS trust money over the generations but the GOP leaders are also guilty of that business as usual. One method of shoring up Social Security is telling Obozo and Reid that they get absolutely NOTHING from the House until they start redeeming the IOUs which are about all that the SS "Trust Funds" contain.

In any event, may you and yours enjoy a Happy and Holy and Merry Christmas and may God continue to Bless all of you.

Rant on. They referred to Ted Kennedy as the Lion of the Senate. I thought of him as some other animal, but I still wonder WHERE IN HELL IS THE REPUBLICAN LION IN THE SENATE? Republicans should be like coiled springs now and ready to counter attack at the drop of a hat when the Democrats come up with these stupid reasonings, and the RINOS who go along with them.

Ok, 40 dollars? Pizza time with your daughter, insulin! Gee, what a tragedy. But tell me, how do you reconcile that you paid anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 dollars EXTRA this year for higher gas, and energy in general, food, and medical costs? 3,000 to 5,000 dollars would have paid for a lot of insulin and pizza times. Not to mention the 4 MILLION dollars that Obama and the Wookie are spending on their Hawaii vacation. That would pay for a hell of a lot of insulin and pizza times.

But let's get to the earthquake that has crushed so many people. The collapse of housing equity, the hundreds of billions of dollars in vanished pensions, 401k's, savings, and wages all due to DEMOCRAT ECONOMY WRECKING. Would those things have paid for a LOT of insulin and PIZZA time?

C/'mon you embarrassing stinking cowardly Republicans, fight back! /Rant off.
