NORAD says Santa hasn't yet started his journey. That actually makes sense. When my kids were youngsters, he never made it to my house 'til after midnight on Christmas morning.
He managed to give my kids their due by about two A.M. every Christmas.
To this day, I don't know how he did it. I became darned tired every year watching for him. Somehow he managed to deliver all those "things-affairs-matters-situations," even those that required construction, when my kids and I were asleep.
The two greatest gifts he ever delivered were (1) The George-Reeves-Superman-Suit Santa gave me in about 1957, and (2) numerous flashlights starting about then and for all time.
Oh, somehow he obtained a jackknife from my grandfather to give me that tied for the greatest gift of all time. I was seven at the time.

There’s a cable movie saved on my DVR where Santa gets shot down as a UFO and is then found by some kids. I can’t remember the name but I’ll look it up when I get home from my in-laws tonight.
