The TV show "The First 48." has one thing in common for almost every case: no one was saying anything...

I watch that show. Most of the time the cops don't really have a lot of evidence against the perp. You'd think the perps-to-be would watch this show before killing someone and lawyer up since the cops are bluffing a lot of the time. If the perps wouldn't 'fess up, they'd probably never see the inside of a courtroom.

Two handguns “without silencers” were discovered

A United Nations? WTF?

It seems the neighbors didn't hear it. That's why without silencers is an interesting detail. Of course, if silencers had been found, that would have been even more interesting.

[Just checking in and finding the Perryonistas - as usual - are a-bitchin’ and complainin’ and insultin’!]

I’m just checking in too, and wondering about your ‘one size fits all’ comment about PERRY SUPPORTERS “a-bitchin’ and complainin’ and insultin’!”

I am a big Perry supporter and have not been posting today so I couldn’t have been doing that, maybe you should direct your comments to the ones who actually did something instead of trying to tar all of us.

I have seen you post some REALLY nasty stuff, in fact you were told to ‘back off’.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

"Two handguns were found near the bodies in the apartment that was decorated for the holiday with a tree, he added. "It appears they had just celebrated Christmas. They had opened their gifts," Eberling said.

Well there ya go. They got pistols for Christmas and were just tryin'em out!

I am in my 60’s and have 2 great granddaughters. One will be 4 on Feb. 29 and the other one will be 3 on Jan. 19 which is the day before my birthday. Friends made fun of my having great granddaughters. I told them I am young enough to get down on the floor and play with them while they will be in their 80’s or 90’s when they have greats. We all love our 2 little girls.

First of all, what a terrible way to spend Christmas for all the police and others who had to witness the aftermath. I know there are a lot of cop-haters on this site but, really, would any of you want to spend your time going through this sort of crime scene on Christmas Day? Would any amount of pay be enough for the pictures these officers will have in their minds for a long time to come?

Secondly, how sad for the family members. And tragic for the classmates of the 18-year-old.

Finally, the holiday season is one of the biggest times of the year for suicides. The darkness and cold, plus the mindset of being left out of the joys of others becomes too much for some. And some also feel they have to murder the rest of the family to “spare them” from the grief. If you know any family members that are going through isolation or a divorce, reach out to them. It could make a big difference.

That is a gorgeous picture. I love seeing old and young together. 5 generations, how lucky is your family. Merry Christmas (there is still one hour left here).

It's doubtful those involved were Texans or even Americans.

Hmmm...

The two firearms were suppressed.

Actually the text at your link says this; "Two handguns without silencers were discovered at ..." Which is kind of an odd thing to say.

“True, but sometimes life’s circumstances make that a difficult choice...” (to be happy).

Yes it is. However, it is amazing how many folks DO choose to be happy in their circumstances. My family helped out at church Christmas Eve with the homeless guys. After serving them dinner we sat down and had a nice meal with them.

I asked them how their week had been. One guy mumbled “been better” - another guy with a big smile on his face “It was fantastic!” Me and the other guy that responded look at him and the other guys said “Huh?” (I was thinking it.)

The guy said any day he woke up was a great day! And this week had hardly any rain which was a blessing, etc. It was pretty amazing, and I told him I’m not so sure if I could show such happiness without a job, home, etc. “Hey - everyday I wake up is another day that might be the day I get a decent job again! And I’m working on getting to see my little girl (3 years old), so I look forward to seeing her again!”

As we left, I was thinking how he was a much better man than me. I wouldn’t end up like the killer in this story - but if I lost my house, couldn’t see my kids, etc. - I would have walked off into the woods a long time ago.

Oh - the one guy that had said “Been better” talked about how this upcoming week was looking up though. He had made it into the homeless shelter at our church that day, and finally knew where he was going sleep for awhile (rather than finding an open bed one night, out in the street for a few, then another shelter, etc. And if need be he can stay up to 6 months with counseling, job training, Bible studies, etc.

Sometimes though it is sure hard to see a way out, and it is easy to give up hope.

That is odd, but in other parts of the story it stressed that no neighbors heard anything, so they might be trying to make a point that the circumstances are odd since no one heard anything, but the guns didn't have silencers.

It also sounds like there were several empty apartments near where the shootings happened.

Been there, done that. I still chose to be happy.
