According to the latest Gallup tracking poll, more Americans approve of the job that President Obama is doing than disapprove for the first time since this summer.
The latest Gallup survey shows that 47 percent of Americans now say they approve of the way that President Obama is handling his job. This is a 5 percent improvement since the Dec. 16-18 Gallup survey and marks the first time the president's numbers have been in positive territory since July. The number of Americans who say they disapprove of Obama's job performance has fallen to 45 percent, down 5 points from Dec. 16-18.
The trend lines are good news for President Obama's team, with his Gallup numbers slowly climbing this month.

Again - go to the average sporting event, mall, park, etc and look around and ask yourself honestly where we will be in 25, 50, 100 years.
Thank God I won’t be here. Pity the young people.
If a Rino or a conservative with no inspiration and charisma goes up against him, he will win reelection.
Rinos will be happy to have him in power for another four years. Mittens, Barry; they win either way.
agreed 10000%- the GOP has fought like children the past 6 years and people wonder why the far left is still around???? the idiot and pathetic attempt during the payroll tax fight was the latest faux pas- anyone wonder why obozo has watched his JA move north???
then again better now then six months from now- when bozo’s #’s will be closer to the 30’s...
“Exactly who does Gallup survey? Government employees? Union members? Indoctrinated college students? Registered Democrats?”
Don’t forget Mitt Romney?
47% approval is still not good for an incumbent. November is a long way off.
So he does nothing, goes to Hawaii on vacation because he got the two month extension. His party has not offered a budget in over two years and not a single vote has been cast in a GOP primary. He truly is...uh...what is it again?
Hope and change...right.
Freegards,
Lex
How can the kenyan lose? He has unlimited campaign funding and the Homeland Security law.
Dispite Obama’s prostations America is a Christian country. Evidence here is that Obama is getting a Christmas bounce as our nation gets into that generous Holiday spirit.
Wait until April 15th......or, for that matter mid January.....when the credit card bills come in with the pink slips.
Gallup is in the tank for Dems, have been for 20+ years.
It wouldn’t surprise me. The GOP lost the communications battle with the recent payroll tax issue, and otherwise Obama has been laying low. It’s the holiday season and people are in a bit of a better mood. I don’t know if a ten point swing is credible, but I can see it happening.
The good thing is that Obama has never (during his term as president) had a spell of good fortune or goodwill that he hasn’t squandered in short order. Sooner or later, he invariably talks too much or overplays his hand, and then it is evaporated.
He spanked the House Republicans on the extensions and his propaganda machine convinced the public that he gave everyone a raise. Few more confrontations like this before the election and he'll win in a landslide and the hammer & sickle will fly over the white house!
When you look at today’s population, and compare it to 25 years ago, you easily see a massive degradation.
I see:
Marxist controlled education, media, and entertainment.
Uncontrolled immigration
high birthrates among the poor and illiterate.
Low birthrates among middle to upper class traditional Americans
Unfortunately, the trend will not be reversed.
I expect life in America will get only worse, but may be true for most any country in today’s modern world.
The fact that Obumbo was even elected says it all.
I know that I have no plan to ever return, and will live out what senior years I have left, enjoying my life on the beach.
Well said , Alex . While I am not on the beach ( wish I was ) I am an ex-pat as you know and I could never go back either . Sad to say but true . BTW - I am being retired by the town ( I’ll be 60 next June so ...) , so will be unemployed from April 1 2012 . Wife got a job but it pays only about half of what I was making . I can collect unemployment for a year , after that things are gonna be a little tough . But we don’t owe anybody a cent ( yen ) so that helps bigtime . If I can sell a few drums I may make it down to see you yet .
“...Gallup survey shows that 47 percent of Americans now say they approve...”

Rasmussen agrees:
“Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president’s job performance.”

Breathe easier, ExTexasRedhead. Most Gallup polls, including this one, sample "all Americans." But practically speaking, they'll interview anyone with a pulse and include his or her responses in their results. The respondent need not even be a citizen, let alone a registered voter or a likely voter. This sampling technique makes the 'Rats look better than they would if one were polling to try to approximate the result of an election.
On the other hand, Rasmussen's presidential approval tracking poll, which includes only registered voters, has Zero's approval index at -13 (Strongly approve 25% - strongly disapprove 38%). Overall, it's 47% approve vs. 51% disapprove. When you consider that Republicans are statistically much more enthusiastic about voting against Obama than 'Rats are about supporting him, this tends to portend deep trouble for his re-election chances.
Incidentally, the Rasmussen's Congressional generic ballot (likely voters only) has the GOP with a three point edge (43-40).
Furthermore, there are whispers that the Obama WH may be colluding with friendly pollsters to fudge publicized results.
Great words, great perspective. There are too many quitters around here.

Plus, I would take ANY poll over the Christmas holidays with a ton of salt. Even Rasmussen suspends his daily tracking poll at Christmastime.
