Report: Knesset to Recognize Armenian Genocide

Israel is set to join France and recognize the 1915 Armenian genocide, according to a report Sunday on Channel 10 News.

The report said that the Knesset’s Education Committee will hold a discussion on Monday regarding an initiative presented by MKs Aryeh Eldad (National Union) and Zehava Gal-on (Meretz) to recognize the Armenian genocide.

According to the report, the committee is expected to pass the initiative, though it is still unclear what the exact wording will be and whether the term genocide or disaster will be used.

The Armenian Genocide is also called the Armenian Massacres. Armenians call it the Great Crime. It was the planned and systematic destruction of the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire around the time of World War I through massacres and forced marches. Between 1 and 1.5 million Armenians died during this period, but Turkey refuses to use the word genocide for the tragedy perpetrated on the Armenian minority.

Channel 10 noted that the Prime Minister’s Office is concerned that such a decision might worsen the already tense relations between Israel and Turkey. The report said that Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin will be attending Monday’s discussion due to the sensitivity of the issue.

National Security Advisor Major Gen. (res.) Yaakov Amidror reportedly spoke to Rivlin on Sunday and sought clarifications on how the discussion will be shaped. Amidror also reportedly asked Rivlin to ensure the discussion does not end up causing provocations.

Genocide is genocide. America sometimes did it to the Indians, Hitler did it to European Jews, Turkey did it to Armenians. It occurred before you were born, so deal with it, Erdogan.

1.5 million, and Turkey likes to pretend it never happened. Screw that.

It continues to happen all over Africa, mostly Muslims targeting non-Muslims, like in the Sudan.

Hitler used the Armenian Genocide as a rational for his “final Solution” to his Jewish Problem. IF the world stood up to the Turks in 1918 there might not have been a Holocaust!

It took the world long enough to stand up to Turkey even now. 2011, 94 years later, finally France and Israel recognize the obvious (don’t like the French law, btw; Erdogan has a point about free speech).

At. Last.

If the Turks did it before, why not now?

Muzzies have been committing physical or cultural genocide against others, mostly Christians, throughout history and as we speak.

History written by politicians and imposed by tribunals instead of freely discussed? No thank you! It has nothing to do with the Jews, Armenians, Russians, Ukranians, Rwandans, Chinese... etc. etc. It has to do with proper historical method and the details and context of each incidence of genocide or slaughter. And there’s plenty to go around. Detached scholarship replaced by hot and politically motivated diktat is not the way.

Aside from the Armenian genocide, we hear little about what the Turks did to the Bulgarians.

Our GGF was a Missionary in Bulgaria from 1861 through 1916, and my GF served on after him until the Nazis took over.

In the 1870s it seems that the Ottoman Turks invaded for the first time, flattened the Russian Army which tried to defend Bulgaria, and launched a reign of terror throughout the country.

We have copies of letters my Ancestor wrote home to his Mission Board reporting on the atrocities in great and gruesome detail. If a village resisted, nothing would be left but ashes, rubble, and a pile of human skulls where the center of town used to be. I don’t think that many Churches were left standing, and they were routinely burned down after the surviving Christians had been rounded up and locked inside. Riflemen were positioned around the Church to pick off any who tried to escape the flames, and apparently the Turks considered it to be great sport.

Historically speaking, “standing up to Turkey” has been much more easily said than done.

When (not if) Turkey goes after Israel, it will be one country that never considers defeat to be an option, vs. another that simply cannot afford to lose. My; how the fur (and blood) will fly then!

The Turk is but one homicidal Muslim Maniac who killed countless Greeks, Armenians, Chaldean and Assyrian Christians, Italians, Spaniards and other Mediterranean Christians as well as Orthodox and Latin Christians in the Balkans and Central Europe. They even raided as far north as Ireland.

But the Turk is merely one head of the many headed Hydra called Islam. Millions of Asian Hindus, Persian Zoroastrians and Coptic African Christians have been killed or oppressed by other branches of Islam.

Today they are still doing it in Nigeria, the Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan, India, Southeast Asia and the Phillipines among other places.

Make no mistake about it, Islam is the most dangerous death cult and form of intolerant Fascism the world has ever seen.

More nations need to recognize what the Turk did to the Armenians and other Christians and what their Muslim brothers are doing in other parts of the world to non-Muslims of every faith.
