Scott Brown haters, consider the alternative
Boston Herald ^ | 12/28/11 | Howie Carr

Posted on 12/27/2011 10:48:49 PM PST by raccoonradio

I’d like to address a question to all the people I hear from who tell me how bad U.S. Sen. Scott Brown is, how he’s a turncoat, sellout, backstabbing, snake-in-the-grass Republican in Name Only (RINO).

My question is, if Scott Brown is so damn liberal, how come the Democrats already are spending millions upon millions of dollars to knock him out of the Senate next year?

Granted, I don’t think there are that many of these Brown haters out there, but they are way overrepresented in the universe of talk-show radio callers. When the first words out of their mouths are “Dodd-Frank,” you know you’ve got another hot one on your hands.

OK, Brown voted for Dodd-Frank. Are you telling me you never made a mistake?

You say he votes with the Democrats all the time? I beg your pardon. You can look it up — he’s voted with the GOP leadership 75 percent of the time. By contrast, John Forbes Kerry has voted with the Democrat leadership 97 percent of the time.

Let’s go down the list.

• Brown voted against Harvard moonbat Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court.

•  He voted against Berkeley moonbat Gordon Liu, who makes Elena Kagan look like Anthony Kennedy, for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

• He voted to repeal Obamacare.

• He opposed the DREAM Act, another handout for illegal aliens.

• He opposed cap-and-trade, which is, if possible, even more insane than Obamacare.

• He voted against the second “stimulus” — a thinly disguised payoff to the public-sector pinky ring thug unions.

• He slammed Harvard for keeping ROTC off campus while rewarding illegal aliens who engage in identity theft.

All you Brown haters, have you forgotten the unique circumstances of his election? Two years ago today, you could have gotten 10-1, and plenty of it, that Marsha Coakley would be the next senator. The turnout was a small fraction of what it will be in November’s election, and despite Marsha’s historically abysmal campaign, he still only won 52-47.

Next year is going to be a tough fight. Would you prefer someone who’s with you 75 percent of the time ... or 3 percent?

And now the moonbats have settled on one of their own. Professor Elizabeth Warren is just so ... perfect. She’s a carpetbagger, from Oklahoma. And she teaches at (prepare to swoon) Harvard Law School. Yes, the home of Obama, Kagan and Patrick. What could possibly go wrong?

You know that she bragged about providing the “intellectual foundations” to the filthy Occupy vermin who defecated on New York City police cars. More recently she said, “I don’t want to go to Washington to be a co-sponsor of some bland little bill nobody cares about.”

Nobody except the person who asks you to write a letter to the U.S. Naval Academy on behalf of their son. Or who needs some help getting Social Security for their aunt.

This state already has one preening narcissist in the Senate. Do we really need another legend-in-her-own-mind limousine liberal?

I know, it’s early, but all you Brown haters, be careful what you wish for. Do you really want six years of buyer’s remorse?

All members of Conservatives For Liz Warren (and Conservatives For Barack Obama), sign in here. (i.e., would rather not vote, or vote third party, due to RINO candidate)

Don't forget, according to your liberal "progressive" friends, Brown is a far right "Rethuglican" who wants to starve children, kill old people, lynch blacks, take away your rights... Six years of Dizzy Miss Lizzie instead...?

Howie Carr list ping. Howie is in Florida now, I think.
Just think, maybe a year from now Howie could have a different flagship station and could make a move to do his
show via ISDN line, live from the Sunshine State.

I heard the latest Joe Kennedy ad about Citgo and the “good people of Venezuela” and how they are different than the evil big U.S. oil companies. The clan must be proud.

one of the comments from Herald article:

>>She’s THE Obama/DNC choice from get-go. All outside lefty dough is hers along w/ the “independent” PACs running absurd dramatic ads v. Brown. If the Rs blow the presidential thingy, which they certainly are capable of, Congress is the only firewall between us & Obama’s unrelenting drive to turn the US into Greece w/o the good weather or olives. Brown’s good for Vets. I’m a vet. Works for me.

That ad is running all the time and uses the old Bill Withers tune “Lean on Me”, I think. He’s used the “good friends in Venezuela” line before. I change the station.

btw there’s talk R.I. could lose 1 of its 2 Congressional seats in the next decade (source: WPRO Providence). First they lose Patches Kennedy as a congressman, and now this!
Oh the humanity! :)

I hear it over here too.

Completely despicable.

Then again, that's the Kennedys trademark.

Please, please everybody, don’t give up on Scott Brown because you think he isn’t the perfect Republican or Conservative. Think about what an improvement he is over the late Ted Kennedy insofar as not supporting progressive liberal positions.

Brown is a rare quasi-semi-conservative in an otherwise pure moonbatly territory. If there are other, better possibilities there to push for, sure, push for them.

A similar soul searching moment is going to happen when/if the GOP nominates Mitt Romney for president. Herd of cats time.

Because he's a Republican.

Wait a minute. Is this a trick question?

What a steaming load of crap. Whenever the Democrats needed him, they knew they could count on him. But ooooh, he’s gonna force the Dems to spend money. Gosh, like they never spent money on Massachusetts Senate races when Kennedy was in office?

Scott Brown is the enemy. Period.

I get your point. Massachusetts is a lost cause. Not an ounce of brains to be found anywhere. Even with all those over-priced colleges and universities.

Poor Massachusetts. The California of the east coast. Except nobody lives there.

Ironically, I hear that Kennedy ad once a day, during the Hannity radio show. Go figure.

People on here would rather have a Democrat who votes with Obama 100% of the time than have a Republican who votes conservative 75% of the time. Pretty impressive for MA. Hey, let’s just elect another liberal to the Kennedy seat. Isn’t that what the Swimmer would want?

Conservatives are stuck on stupid.

Right. Whoever votes Democrat is a friend of Obama.

Go to DU. They’d be happy to have you bolster their ranks.

Yes. When RINO stop trying to pick our candidates, I may consider ignoring them. For now, they have to go.

You’re absolutely right; like Chris Christie in NJ, Scott Brown has to be viewed in his environment. Both were elected in notoriously left-leaning states, and when one considers how far to the right they are of the PEOPLE THEY REPLACED, it can be viewed as little short of incredible.

Scott Brown didn’t lie to anybody; he campaigned as the 41st vote against ObamaCare, and that is what he is. He and Christie might not satisfy conservatives from “Middle America”, but to conservatives in their home states they are definitely steps in the right direction.
