The F.B.I. data are particularly grim given the approaching anniversary of the shooting rampage in Tucson that left Representative Gabrielle Giffords gravely shot in the head, six people dead, including a federal judge, and 13 others wounded.

Yeah. And the perp was a left-wing nutball with an arrest record, who was only issued a license because his mother was an influential DEMOCRAT POLITICIAN.

In the world of the Screwed York Times, Up is Down, Down is Up, White is Black, etc.

This is GOOD news - for America. Bad news for the Screwed York Times and the nanno-cerebral idiots on the left and in the Pacifist Groups.

Went shooting yesterday. My host brought 10 different handguns with him for me to try out.

Took a liking to the S&W 22 Semi which my wife will like. I am for th M&P40. One of the guns I fired had a built in laser sighting device. There was a .500 Wyoming, which ripped my thumb apart. Tough love I guess.

***Fact: A loaded gun in the hands of an infant is far less dangerous than a printing press in the hands of the liars and agenda-whores at the New York Times.***

I’ve got news for the Slimes. People are not buying weapons because they fear violent crime. They fear a tyrannical govt declaring martial law and coming for their guns and their food.

No one knows how many more firearms were purchased through the gun-show loophole that enables black marketeering.

I bet they didn't include DOJ 'give-a-ways', either...

"...another year of almost 100,000 people shot or killed with a gun."

The NYT reports this factoid as though causality or intention did not matter, which for Liberals, it often does not.

Nonetheless, it is a fabrication. The actual figures for 2011 are not yet complete nor have they been published. However, according to the Centers for Disease Control and also the National Center for Health Statistics, firearm injuries in the United States has averaged 32,300 deaths annually between 1980 and 2006, and have generally been declining since 1993.

Stories you'll NEVER read about in the NYTimes:

...improvements in the federal background check system and to have more states track and prevent non-white individuals with histories of mental illness from voting.

...improvements in the federal background check system and to have more states track and prevent female individuals with histories of mental illness from voting.

...improvements in the federal background check system and to have more states track and prevent female individuals with histories of mental illness from having abortions.

...improvements in the federal background check system and to have more states track and prevent gay individuals with histories of mental illness from marrying.

...improvements in the federal background check system and to have more states track and prevent individuals with histories of mental illness from receiving cruel and unusual punishment.

...improvements in the federal background check system and to have more states track and prevent individuals with histories of mental illness from receiving a fair trial by jury.

...improvements in the federal background check system and to have more states track and prevent individuals with histories of mental illness from exercising free speech.

EVERYTHING but the 2nd Amendment is always a RIGHT, whether it's in the Consititution or not.

“...another year of almost 100,000 people shot or killed with a gun.”

They’re using the rhetorical “or” to inflate perceived fatalities with those “shot (at?)

They could also say “...another year of almost 10,000,000 people worried by, shot or killed with a gun.”

Consider that many of the shooting were self-inflicted, or justifiable self-defense or law-enforcement action.

Assault clips? Seriously?

That’s right - because Liberals are mystics who think that guns are fired without cause or intention, as though their very presence creates a risk regardless of human direction. If you think through the consequence of that belief, you will understand that liberals do not trust other people to act rationally nor to create objective laws to deal with those who do not.

The gun lobby, fairly crowing, claims the spike in gun sales is because more people are feeling the need to protect themselves — even though the latest F.B.I. data show a 6 percent drop in violent crimes. A raft of studies have found that the presence of guns greatly increased the likelihood of homicide and suicide in households.

Sometimes I wonder to which Third World country the New York Times has outsourced its research and editorials.

Right. The NYT cares about increased homicides and suicides in gun owning households. They hate gun owners, so why should they care? Their real agenda is obvious, socialism with its attendant police state.

“Assault clips? Seriously?”

Yes! It also had a combat trigger, combat sights, combat grips, and fired “high powered” 9MM ammunition. If we wait long enough it’ll become one of those Kalashnikov AK47 automatic assault rifles which fires bullets forever with just one squeeze of the trigger.

“No one knows how many more firearms were purchased through the gun-show loophole that enables black marketeering”

Not having sufficient gag reflex control to read the entire article, does it mention the “DOJ running guns to the drug cartels” loophole?

Don’t forget the NY Times once reported that crime continued to drop despite a record number of incarcerations. Apparently the idea that crime would drop because of, not despite, the increased number of imprisoned criminals is beyond their PC vision.

Great observation, more guns = less crime.
