British Prime Minister David Cameron recently marked the 400th anniversary of the King James' Bible by declaring that Great Britain is a "Christian country" and "we should not be afraid to say so." Cameron was speaking at Christ Church, Oxford before a Church of England audience.
The speech will trouble dogmatic secularists of course. But it also should alert many American religionists who enthusiastically insist that Christendom is dead. Perhaps the embers, however muted, of what reputedly began with the Emperor Constantine almost 1700 years ago still burn, even in a nation like Britain where only 5 percent are regular churchgoers.

Words are cheap. Let’s see what he actually does to stop the islamization of his country.
Sharia is already the law of the land in Londonistan. How much longer before St. Paul’s goes the way of the Hagia Sophia?
Well, that is obvious-—with the Anglican Church and Bloody Mary.
It is Christianity which made Western Civilization so great, period, and, created the Renaissance and the Printing Press. Wilberforce, with the help of Christians, ended the slave trade in England and was Lincoln’s hero, and Wilberforce established the Animal Humane Society and hospitals and schools and universities.
Common Law was the result of Christian Theology as was the Magna Carta. These concepts couldn’t have existed without Christianity and the idea of individuals being important to God—all God’s children. They led to the USA. Women were elevated by the image and importance of Mary-—which never happened in non-Christian societies. Feminists should get down on their knees and thank God for their lives—but then, now in their paganism—they commit infanticide and endorse female mutilation and sodomy of women—and desertion of their own biological children. Such evil people who shirk their responsibility is Marxism in a nutshell. No respect for human life and glorification of defilement of the body and dysfunctional lifestyles and a supreme hatred for God’s design of male and female body. Such jealousy.
They need to restore their great heroes and kick out the Marxists that want to rewrite history and establish Atheism—a religion responsible for millions of deaths and torture and slavery and destruction of family and morality . They also need to outlaw polygamy and sodomy to eliminate islam. Those people who practice such things should be evicted since it is incompatible with dignity for human beings and equality for the sexes.
Christianity was the basis of freedom for the individual because it is all about individuality and worth and dignity of every single person. No belief system—theology or ideology equal to Christianity for Freedom and dignity of all.
Christians are people who recognize Jesus as the son of God and are people who profess Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior. Usually Christians are able to testify as to the precise moment in which they were personally saved. If a large number of Brits fit the description above, then Britain may be a Christian nation as Cameron describes. If not, then Britain can not be considered as a Christian nation.
True, but there is active government promotion into the belief system which could lead to conversions. Governments have to push the best philosophy and Theology-—right now England has been pushing Atheism which is a horrible belief system of nihilism. They need to return to their Christian roots—like the Pope has talked about. There is no alternative to Absolute Truth and God’s Standards of Right and Wrong.—No belief system that can lead to any type of healthy human society. History proves that.
Christianity is in line with common law and Natural Laws. England was at its best when they had God as their standard. With no God, they are imploding and the vacuum is being filled by inhumane ideologies and theologies.
If all schools would promote and elevate Christianity—because it has been the greatest Theological success in the history of the world—for freedom for everyone—including women and children. Then we could get the world in order. Putting the genie back in the bottle????? Yes-—you start with education and kick out all the revisionist history of Howard Zinn and restore the Classics-—Shakespeare, Dickens and the Bible. Teach Virtue and censor shows which promote evil to children—any dysfunctional behaviors glorified—Immerse children with the Theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity.-—what used to reign when England was a mighty power. Kick out the haters of Christian Theology.—they do not belong in Christian Europe. They need Churchills—not Quislings.
In times of great economic and social strife, strong moral and spiritual leadership is important, and welcome.
David Cameron has defied the secular, anti-religion culture that wants to obliterate Britain’s Christian roots and heritage.
I would like to see more leaders speak out.
President Sarkozy of France has recently met with a large group if Catholic priests and discussed moral and spiritual concerns with them for two hours. He has reaffirmed France’s Judeo-Christian heritage.
Queen Elizabeth II has also spoken to this in her Christmas message.
“Forgiveness lies at the heart if the Christian faith”

These people look dark and forboding even with their sinister grins. Coming to the US in droves if we don’t stop it.
They are a people wandering in the wilderness. They are lost sheep who have strayed from the flock. But the heritage an influence of the Judeo-Christian tradition is s flame still burning.
With leaders like Cameron and Sarko speaking out about faith issues, there is still hope.
We should be cheering them on and encouraging them, not trashing them.
Don’t get me wrong, I really didn’t mean to trash anybody. This report about Cameron is great news. If God wants to move people in Britain, then it certainly can happen that Britain could be a Christian nation again. I do have to be realistic however, and recognize that with today being the starting point, Britain starts with a very small remnant.
Thanks Cincinna.
I'm a Christian and I believe only God knows who will be "personally saved", and that salvation is a lifelong process, not something that happens in a "precise moment". I'd say the vast majority of Christians in the world agree with me. Perhaps you are confusing Christianity with born-again protestants.
