Va Gop Defends...:
Gingrich said his campaign paid an outside group to gather petitions and someone from that group submitted 1,500 fraudulent signatures, disqualifying him.

He should probably check to see whether the millions of dollars of taxpayer money laundered through Freddie Mac and into his pocket only to be spent at Tiffany's bought Callista genuine articles.

Iowa isn’t going to pick my candidate for me.

And it shouldn't.

-

Newt and Santorum should announce they’re teaming up on one ticket. Newt has to be on top.

Here's where we disagree. Newt's negatives are way higher than Santorum's. I honestly believe that Rick Santorum would stand a much better chance at winning in November than Newt Gingrich. Your fear of Romney is duly noted. But I have said it before and I will say it again, Mitt Romney has zero chance of winning the GOP nomination. His negatives within the GOP voting bloc are too high. We didn't even have a conservative candidate in '08 once Duncan Hunter dropped out of the race, and still Romney lost.

He’s a conservative killer, not leader.

You weren’t a Noot watcher in the ‘80s and ‘90s, or you would know how he stole our victory in ‘94 and flushed it.

Why do Newt’s opponents have to resort to lies to say anything negative about him?

Newt’s consulting firm collected $1.6 million over several years time. He was paid about $30,000 a year. In 2008 he gave a speech saying Freddie and Fannie should NOT be bailed out by the taxpayers. Obama, the 3rd highest recepient of Fannie/Freddie contributions in the last 20 years or so, didn’t listen and has continued to bail them out multiple times with billions of taxpayer money.

Newt should have known better than hiring a Democrat to collect signatures. Of course they were fraudulent.

You can’t go by static positives/negatives. Hilary used to have extremely high negatives. Now most agree she is a benefit to the Democrat ticket and would get more votes than Obama. It’s the history of media sliming from the ‘90s that people remember about Newt. Republicans warmed up to him in our debates and the general public would do the same in the debates. Santorum is vulnerable to the same bashing that Quayle and Palin got of being stupid or too much of a religious-based conservative. He is a great V.P. pick because he has good experience and good values. He doesn’t have the gravitas to carry the ticket and take on Obama.

What is the most recent Congress in history other than the ‘95-’98 terms that did better work than they did?

Then the Newt supporters better get on board and support the candidate who has the best chance of winning Iowa - Rick Santorum.

LOL. But he (Santorum) doesn't and he won't.

They moved nothing on the conservative agenda, all the while boosting leftist causes like NPR, PBS, and UN funding.

And Noot personally torpedoed eight true conservative congressmen to get them out of his socialist/gobalist hair.

Any Congress where income tax rates were lowered.

As far as I’ve read, every single thing in the Contract for America went up for a vote. Then there were partial-birth abortion bans, balanced budgets, welfare reform, etc.

Newt had the power to tell people how to vote in 8 different districts? I hope he can work that mojo in Iowa!

Then Newt should be your candidate because he’s proposing so many tax cuts it’ll make your head spin, all Laffer-endorsed and certified Reaganite.

http://www.newt.org/solutions/jobs-economy

Stop the 2013 tax increases to promote stability in the economy. Job creation improved after Congress extended tax relief for two years in December. We should make the rates permanent.

Make the United States the most desirable location for new business investment through a bold series of tax cuts, including: Eliminating the capital gains tax to make American entrepreneurs more competitive against those in other countries; Dramatically reducing the corporate income tax (among highest in the world) to 12.5%; Allowing for 100% expensing of new equipment to spur innovation and American manufacturing; Ending the death tax permanently.

Move toward an optional flat tax of 15% that would allow Americans the freedom to choose to file their taxes on a postcard, saving hundreds of billions in unnecessary costs each year. This optional flat tax system will preserve deductions on charitable giving and home ownership, and create a new personal deduction of $12,000 for every American. This deduction is well above the current poverty level, ensuring that this new system does not unfairly target the poor.

Santourm put all his eggs in this Iowa basket. I hope he comes in first. I think that Michelle Bachmann is the better person but Santorum is 2nd best, I wish him well.

Well, his first wife was a predatory teacher who bedded him when he was 16. And his second wife was, I think, committing adultery with a married man (Newt). So he had some bad influences. I’m glad to know he’s repented, reformed and made peace with God.

Some people here want to relive the glory years of the Clinton Administration.
