I really am shocked the KMart in our town isn’t on the list. Besides the fact it is always empty, it is falling apart, literally. They have one window that has been broken and covered with plywood for months.
None in CT. I’m surprised at that.
I can’t believe they aren’t closing any of the locations in my region. Any time I go into a Kmart, they are ghost towns. The employees easily outnumber the shoppers. Also, all of the Sears near where I live just plain suck.
Is this the final list, or will there be more coming? Also surprised that none in WV or the one near us in OH.
Got mine in Columbus GA and Auburn AL. Both are at prime high traffic intersections. Both poorly run, sparse, and surrounded by specialty and upscale stores in fairly vibrant middle class areas.
Left the one in Columbus that borders on the more decrepid neighborhoods and has laundrymats for competition.
Just reporting the facts - draw your own conclusions.

Ours are more small townish — Walla Walla, WA and Lewiston, ID. Surprised the Yakima KMart is staying open.
Well *maybe* that's because Sears was started in Chicago and it's a historical thing.
Or... *maybe* because our moron Gov just cut Sears a BIG Tax FREEBIE Deal to stay in IL. (I do seem to recall reading something like that not to long ago.)

The neighboring businesses all looked run down too. This store had more workers than Christmas shoppers, and if I ever went there, I was certain to lock my doors, hide anything of apparent value, and get in and out, fast. |
