I can't see this as being a bad thing-it will certainly draw attention to the matter at the very least. I can especially imagine the howling if Facebook was to go down for a while (although it wouldn't bother me a bit.)
As an aside, am I the only one who sees SOPA and whose first thought is immediately "Senior Officer Present Afloat?"

Its regrettable the dumb old shits in DC are empowered with the force of Statism.
And THAT is precisely the problem. It is not that this or that regulation goes to far. The federal government needs to be stripped of the power to regulate AT ALL. (The INTERSTATE Commerce Clause never gave it in the first place.)
