Obama: Is it too soon to judge his presidency?

And yet, here we are at the end of 2011, with Facebook pages, Twitter accounts and discussion boards still teeming with intemperate quick takes. President Obama has taken considerable heat this year, but isn't it too soon to accuse him of being an ineffectual leader? Isn't that one lesson from the Tucson incident?

On a Christmas Day episode of "GPS" on CNN, Fareed Zakaria interviewed Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David McCullough, who reminded us that it's too early to cast Obama's legacy in stone. Here's an excerpt from their interview:

I admire him very much, and I think that his -- his time in office presented him with problems such as very few presidents have ever had to address. And given the complexity and the gravity of those problems, I think he's handled himself very well. My -- my hat goes off to him, my heart goes out to him. […]

All of our -- all of our best presidents, without exception, have had a sense of history, and I don't think that's coincidental. And one of the things that a sense of history gives to a person is not just an appreciation, an understanding of what happened before we came along, but the realization that we, too, are a part of history and we, too, are going to be judged by history. […]

And that's extremely important. Today's polls, today's -- tomorrow's headlines, are not going to matter.

Zakaria agreed: "[W]e cannot really tell the quality of a leader judged from the noise of the present. We need time and perspective."

With the amount of destruction and debt he has piled on the Republic to the Constitution the the damage he has inflicted on Christians, I would suggest that we the American people have a DUTY to judge his Presidency

“We need time and perspective.”

True enough. He needs time to get his head out of his @ss so he can get a better perspective.

Well everything up until now has been either Bush’s fault or the fault of the Republican Congress.

The only thing that has improved during the Obama administration is his golf score and even that is questionable.

Hmmm, how long does it take two liberals to figure out how bad our current socialist president really is? 20 years? 30 years? How about NEVER. They will NEVER figure it out. It will always be someone else’s fault. What a couple of chuckleheads.

And I thought Carter was bad...........

In 2008 I was telling people BO was going to be WORSE than Jimmy Carter. We who have lived through the Carter presidency have earned the right to make that comparison. It's a fair one.

No. Not too soon at all.

Shoot, it wasn't "too soon" the day after this Narcissistic, Fascist, Neo-Commie took office.

Heck, he started going back on his "word" and prevaricating (ok, LYING) even during his campaign, begining with his breaking his promise to use only "public financing" and he has only increased in the number of times he has went back on what he promised and as far as his lying, well that happens just about every time he opens his mouth to speak.

“Office of the President-Elect.” Heh heh.

Remember when people were talking about putting BO’s face on

* Mount Rushmore?

* United States currency?

I was saying to people there were three kinds of voters in 2008.

The kind that remembered how bad Jimmy Carter was.
The kind that never knew and would never know how bad Carter was.
Then there was the kind that would soon learn just how bad he was.........

his time in office presented him with problems such as very few presidents have ever had to address.

What unmitigated Bullshit.......
You think that maybe the first 3-4-5 Presidents of a beginning Nation did not have a few problems?
No problems presented to Lincoln did they?
WW1 and WW2 well just little speed bumps I guess.
The Great Depression? A good time was had by all!
The Korean War, the Cold War.
And last but far from the least 9/11....
Obama has been weighed
Obama has been measured
Obama has absolutely been found to wanting!

Dubya’s failure to prosecute and weed out the corruption of the Clinton cartel left us with the mess we have now.

If the GOP (Going On Progressive) party’s socialst RINO does win the election, nothing will really improve.

The republicrat oligarchy will maintain it’s wealth and power.
