4 charged after 2 U.S. flags burned at Occupy Charlotte site
The Charlotte Observer ^ | December 30, 2011 | By Elisabeth Arriero and Steve Lyttle

An Occupy Charlotte member who was jailed after helping burn two U.S. flags told other members late Friday that while he's sorry for the trouble it may have caused the movement, he's not sorry for what he did. "Those were actions taken on my own behalf," Alex Tyler said at a camp meeting. "I did it to display my utter contempt for American greed, not (the military)." Tyler, 19, of Fort Mill was among four Charlotte-area men charged Friday when police say they burned two U.S. flags at the organization's camp site in the uptown area. Two were members of the Occupy Charlotte group. Burning a U.S. flag is not against the law, but police said the four were charged with careless use of a fire because they didn't use a fire pit.

If he wants to complain about American corporate greed he should go to a WalMart when the doors open for Christmas shopping and observe. Doesn’t even compare.

I would suggest they watch their backs. You never know when an “accident” may happen.

Dear Tyler, 19, of Fort Mill,
I hear Cuba is nice this time of year. You should get a one way ticket. Please.. Don’t come back.

Signed

This is the Obma ,Pelosi army. Pelosi said “God bless them” and Obama stands with them. Bill Ayres respects the flag as the occupiers do. This upcoming Democrat convention in Charlotte will be interesting for sure.

Trustafarians - great new word for ‘trust fund babies’... Thanks.

****************************************************

Trustafarians: The unmotivated, slacking child of privilege, the mythical trustafarian combines a flush bank account with endless resentment, a sense of entitlement with middle-class shame, resulting in a final product that resembles a very well-funded vagrant.

Heh ... even Wallyworld may go the way of the post office, darlin'

The internet moved more items tax free this year than before.

I'm kind'a glad I'm an ol' fart ... not being very sharp these days, my speculations are just that ... but what I see ... doesn't look good without revolution and bloodshed of some kind.

I don't want to think it, but America is less than a year from salvation or destruction, and the destructive forces are large, armed with brass and law that a coup against America just might be pulled off.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Tyler,

I hope that this is just an example of a yute gone wild and not a product of your training.

Happy New Year, and good luck with Alex, because while he is legally an adult, he is still your son and you and he will need all the prayers that we can muster.

Alex sounds like a spoiled, arrogant little selfish prick, but since this is the last day of the year, and I'm feeling charitable, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and just hope that he doesn't meet bubba in jail because it would be a hard way to start the new year.

Hi! You know, problem is that people think of the USA as one country. It's not. It's a federation of individual states. So it'd be real hard for the federal government to impose laws on states that the states (and its people) don't like. Maybe in Europe something like that could happen. Germany, France or even England are about the size of one of our western states like Montana or Texas.

Have a Great Year. R/Janey

If he wants to complain about American corporate greed he should go to a WalMart when the doors open for Christmas shopping and observe. Doesn’t even compare.

Better yet, he should go to his bank and withdraw all his money.

Then go to Walmart during Christmas shopping, stop at the front door and put ALL of his money into the Salvation Army kettle.

Then he can talk about American corporate greed.
