Good call, PM.

When Cuccinelli, the AG who led the VA charge against Obamacare, says this process is deficient, then you can bet he means constitutionally deficient.

And he’s probably aware of the timeline of its recent enforcement.

State law. The law requires 10,000 signatures from registered voters and they didn’t get them.

People are confused because the Party does the verifying and counting.

Sure, go ahead and change the rules in the middle of the game. Why should we be different from Dems?

Geez. The GOP can’t even run a frigging primary election right.

Ineffective = Republican.

Ken Cuccinelli is excellent...as his work against Obamacare demonstrates. Every time I’ve heard him or read what he has written...I’ve been IMPRESSED.

It must be a game to you if you ONLY want two choices (a liberal and a racist) in the primary.

To us conservatives, play time is over, dude.

Get used to it. We’re taking back the White House. Period.

Well, well, well, nothing like unconstitutional acts, so ends the great experiment. Democrats deem legislation passed and an outlaw attorney general high-jacks a state legislature . In case you missed it noot admitted many of his names were fraud, probably copied out of a phone book. He has no standing after that.

As we’ve come to expect of him, Cuccinelli has gotten to the heart of the problem here. The problem is in the state statute and has to be resolved/amended by the state legislature. It’s in the interest of both D’s and R’s to adopt the change.

Cuccinelli or his Office will have to defend the actions of the SBE being sued by Perry And, what is he to argue? That they followed the statute. Better to just change the statute. If adopted, Perry can withdraw his suit.

It should be noted Cuccinelli’s proposed language says “or eligible for federal funds.” That means the candidate has to have filed with the FEC. No one gets matching federal funds until they have won their party’s nomination (if they opt to accept federal funds). And, Cuccinelli’s amendment serves the underlying purpose of the statute, which was to keep totally fringe candidates off the ballot, not the Gingriches and Perrys. Perfect resolution.

All the candidates knew the VA rules for months and months.

This is just a replay of the Lautenberg switcheroo and the GOP should have no part of it.

Play by the rules, period. If they want to change the rules for future primaries, fine.

Great news. Now the adults will decide this. If I lived in Virginia I would be spitting mad at my lack of choice. This is how elections in dictatorships are run — your choice is Kim Jong Il or Kim Jong Il. In this case your choice is Romney or Romney unless you are a Paultard.

I’ll look forward to Sanctormonius and his pals filing the same sort of noise in New York. Or any noise being made about the other party-favorite states that have worked for years to make it tough on independents and non-party-fave candidates to even qualify.

This is all whiny crap that shows how weak the other candidates’ organizations really are, and how much this is really about the media continuing the fracturing of the GOP’s conservative wing as long as possible.

What a joke that Fox is now on the bandwagon.
