When I joined FR about 10 years, most of the threads and posts were written by intelligent adults. Much of what we see here now is unfounded speculation, and adolescent name calling.
Zero, Nobama, Bambi, Noot, Milf, Mittens, ___ bots, Mr. Gardasil, et cetera.
Then there are those who make it appear that they know the candidates on a personal basis by using their first names.
Perry needs to add a new Cabinet (while he dissolves or defangs Energy, EPA, Education and Human Services): the Un-do Cabinet. One that specifically exists to roll back and repeal jackass legislation.
That would be right up Sarah’s alley, she’s a born pest exterminator.
Actually, no. I’ve been speaking out against the circular firing squad for some time now. I’m prepared to get behind any legitimate candidate (that excludes racist loon Ron Paul) and concentrate on defeating the Muslim Marxist in the White House.
That being said, Sarah Palin is a joke. She couldn’t handle being governor of Alaska, and quit to make money as a reality TV star. More power to her. I hope she continues to get very rich. But lets not confuse her celebrity with any kind of qualificaton to serve as president. She would bring nothing to Gingrich, Romney, Perry or anyone else at the top of the ticket except massive negatives. Our nominee can do a lot better for a VP. Rubio? Cantor? There are so many better possibilities than Palin.
” I agree, this is BS. Of course Newt would not rule out considering Sarah. “ <<
This serves as a smile for the Palin fans and a chuckle at the humor of it to the rest of the voting population. A Win Win I suppose for Newt.
I am chuckling, personally, and on que.
I strongly disagree with your point of view above. That is the liberal and MSM point of view, based not on her history, speeches or writings but just on gossip and propaganda. However, it is New Year's Eve so let's agree to disagree.
Best wishes for 2012.
I am confused, in the thread right above this one it says Newt wants to see Condoleezza Rice in the VP debate against Joe Biden. Hmmmm, what the heck!
Ya buy ‘em books. Ya send ‘em to skool... LOL
Not a Newt fan, crony capitalism and all that, but Newt has been very good, one of the few in D.C. to always have Sara back. I sadly I fell for the spin too, yes it was a question answered not a deception by Newt. My bad.
But would she accept? Oh, I hope she would. That would really brighten up this whole otherwise-bleak spectacle.
McLame redux!
She quit as governor; hasn’t she already said of running for VP again: “been there, done that,” or was that Dan Quayle?
Which is why she tried to reignite the "will she or won't she" speculation a week or two ago by saying there's still time for candidates to get into the race. It's kind of a sad position she's found herself in. Unfortunately as a commentator on Fox she just hasn't displayed the depth of understanding on the issues or the quality of analysis that most of their commentators do. I'm glad she didn't try to run for president just to boost her Q-score but I find it hard to see her retaining much relevance in the national political scene now, and the reality TV circuit seems to have decided her 15 minutes are up.
I disliked McCain even more that most of us dislike Romney today and I felt like a deflated balloon when McCain became our nominee. We all did. Yet, something changed in that election that brought back the momentum and excitement, and it even had many of us McCain haters reach for our check books to send the McCain campaign a little something, or ask how we might volunteer. If you look back on the 2008 archives of FR you will see how enthused we were. So what happened? PALIN. One of the smartest picks of a VP in presidential history.
Now for dumb remarks, you win.
She turned down a second season. The info is online.
Where’s that info? All I found was this:
Interest in the show began to wane, however, with viewing figures dropping to 3.2million - prompting the TLC channel to shelve plans for a second series.
Now the 47-year-old’s pitch for a new show has been turned down by both Discovery Communications, the owner of TLC, as well as A&E Networks - which last time around entered into a bidding war with Discovery.
Sarah Palin’s Alaska had sold for more than $1million an episode and sources claim Palin and producer Mark Burnett wanted a similar figure for their new collaboration, which would have been focused on Palin’s husband Todd and his career as a champion snowmobile racer.
So far, the networks have baulked at the steep asking price, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Remember this?
Cheers!
OK, I found this more recent article, saying they’re still in talks for a season 2 of the show:

And, literally, the only smart thing the McCain campaign did!
Happy New Year to you as well.
