Why our president fails
The Washington times ^ | 12/28/2011 | Dr. Milton R. Wolf

There’s something profoundly tragic about the failed presidency of Barack Obama. He was supposed to be a new kind of president, a man who embodied hope and would transcend petty politics and even race. Instead, we’re left with a downgraded America that is stagnating under the weight of its bloated government. As tragic as that alone is, even this is but a mere symptom of Mr. Obama’s larger fundamental failure: He simply does not trust the Americans who entrusted him with the presidency.

Most presidents, we believe, ascend to the Oval Office, but for the 44th president, the reverse seems true. Whatever majesty the White House can muster must rise to the grandiosity of Barack Obama. “We are the ones we have been waiting for,” said the man who writes autobiographies and later would claim to control the rise of the oceans.

As recently as this month, the food-stamp president of 13 million unemployed Americans declared himself the fourth-most-accomplished president in the history of the United States, eclipsing, in his own mind, President Reagan and even our nation’s father, George Washington. That in only three years. Barack the Magnificent won’t allow trivialities like $15 trillion debts or historic national credit downgrades dissuade him.

The sum total of Mr. Obama’s political philosophy, the unifying theme of his presidency, amounts to this: You cannot be trusted to live as a free American.

For statists like Mr. Obama, no matter how bloated our government has become, America is forever just one legislative act away from utopia, if only those untrustworthy Americans would just get in line. The man who ran on hope has instead embraced a tragic pessimism that views all free Americans with disdain as either incompetent rubes in need of his salvation or unrighteous villains in need of his rules. Either way, Mr. Obama embraces a command-and-control government and rejects American freedom.

Mr. Obama’s distrust of Americans is his fatal flaw, and Republicans would be wise to exploit it fully. The GOP should resist the temptation simply to become a cleverer version of autocrats who pull the same powerful levers of government but in different directions. Instead, they should become the party that embraces liberty.

He did transcend race but politics? Please!

Mr. Hope and Change wants to create a nation humbled; humiliated, casting-aside capitalism and individual freedoms for one where we the people are government controlled. This would be a system that genuflects mediocrity, steals personal aspiration and opportunity, and punishes
those who strive to succeed.

A gallon of regular gasoline the day Obama was inaugurated was $1.79 on average in the U.S. Today that price is $3.59, a 100.6% increase.

The number of food stamp recipients has risen since Obama took office from 31,983,716 to 43,200,878, a 35.1% jump.

Long term unemployment soared 146.2% during the same 32 month period from 2,600,000 to 6,400,000. Staggering ‘Hope’ and ‘Change’ isn’t it?

American citizens living in poverty have risen 9.5% from 39,800,000 to 43,600,000, and the number of unemployed has jumped almost 25% from 11,616,000 to 14,485,000 as of August 31, 2011.

The number of unemployed blacks has risen from 12.6% at the end of George Bush’s term to 15.8% today, a 25.4% increase,
and finally, our national debt is up 34.4% from 10.627 trillion to 14,278 trillion *

Keep these figures in mind as we recount the number of firsts for this presidency.

Newsbusters.com is reporting that Ed Schultz, on his radio show, talked about meeting with Obama advisor David Axelrod at the White House last week, along with fellow liberal radio host Bill Press and several other left-wing media types Schultz did not identify.

Schultz: First of all you walk into the White House, in the West Wing, and there are picture all over, I mean everywhere! Of President Obama! I mean, of his life in the first year as president of the United States. Now I don’t know if that’s the way it is with every president, but it was almost a shrine. I mean, well, here’s a picture of Obama the president with his kids over here. There he is getting on Air Force One. Here he is with some military people. Here he is on the line working the line at one of his campaign stops. I mean, just, it was just one picture after another! (laughs)

Schultz is a far-left opinion-meister on MSNBC. He considers himself a “progressive liberal.” His talk show is generally considered to be a very liberal-leaning program. He is pro-union and centers a large portion of his radio show on the “plight of working class Americans.”

This display of Obama’s narcissism in the White House must really be something when an Obot like Schultz is surprised.

Update: Just received this Hillbuz report from Stacy — Today, ...took a much-needed break from the Internet and went down to the Museum of Science & Industry here in Chicago to see the White House model they have on display through February: it’s a to-scale miniature, with cutaways into most of the rooms. Apparently, the Zeif Family, who made and maintains this model, travels to the White House in each administration, measures any changes that were made, and recreates the interior of the White House to exacting detail. They’ve been doing this since the Kennedy Administration.

What disturbs us is that, if the model is really exact in all details, the actual White House is chock full of crazy currently.

In the Zeif model, the East and West wings of the White House are plastered with propaganda. Inside all the offices, there are GIANT photos of the current First Family, the likes of which we’d expect to see in Pyongyang or the old presidential palaces in Baghdad, before the Husseins were ousted. They aren’t even particularly good pictures — like things cut out of People magazine or some other propaganda piece run on the Obamas.

It’s just strange that the Zeifs took the time to recreate everything else in such painstaking detail, but then plaster the interior of the East and West wings (but not the original White House itself), with giant images of Dr. Utopia and his “fashion icon” wife. Unless the REAL East and West wings really are covered in this garbage.

The miniature computer screens in the offices are all functional, and play tiny propaganda reels praising the Obamas. The White House cinema, located in the Collonade between the White House and the East Wing, also plays a DVD promoting the glory of all things Obama.

It’s really very strange. And, there’s more here . . .

Sounds like Schultz’s description of the place might be understated.

Trashing the US economy
Destroying the US middle class
Growing government
Empowering government unions
Creating a climate for race war in the US
Promoting Islam in the US
Denigrating Christianity in the US
And promoting radical Islamic revolutions throughout the Arab world, wiping away more secular regimes, in preparation for a revival of the Caliphate.

I think Obama has a track record of incredible success. (Again: that’s a bad thing.)

America's Founders had a realistic view of human nature. In their view, however, it was not the decisions and actions of individual citizens which were to be feared, controlled, and regulated. Rather, they recognized the human tendency to abuse power, once it had been delegated to individuals in elected and appointed positions in government.

Devoted to liberty for individuals, they devised a form of self-government under a "We, the People's" Constitution which would divide, separate, check and balance the powers of their government.

Another thread today features a Rich Lowry column in which he states:

"The acrid whiff of decline is in the air in America, in the enduringly weak employment picture, in the spiraling debt, in the persistent pessimism about our prospects, and in the intellectual preparation for a “post-American world.”

If Lowry truly believes what he writes in the first phrase of this sentence, then he surely must know that, in order to restore America to its foundations in liberty, a leader must emerge who, like Thatcher, has an inner core that is firmly fixed in America's founding principles, coupled with a fierce ability to defend those principles of liberty against what Obama has called "a righteous wind" of his version of "change."

Does anyone remember this remark from early November 2008? "At a Virginia rally -— 'If you’ll stand with me, then I know that we can win Virginia and we can win this election and we can finally bring the change we need to Washington,' Obama told the estimated crowd of 35,000. 'I feel like we got a righteous wind at our backs here.'

Inasmuch as the term "righteous wind" has not been a staple phrase in American politics, and, upon further research, one finds these words from Chairman Mao:

“The ill wind of opportunism is falling, the righteous wind of socialism is on the rise.”

Four years later, in 2012, the "wind" has brought what Lowry here describes as "the acrid whiff of decline" and "persistent pessimism about our prospects."

So-called "progressives," sometimes reveal the roots of their beliefs in their easy use of words and ideas from those they have studied.

Which potential Republican candidate has studied, and is likely to call up the ideas and words of Jefferson or Madison in a debate?

Which is most likely to be able to expose, rebut and rebuke the counterfeit ideas of "redistribution" which have led America to the brink of "decline" with the "self-evident" truths of the philosophy of the Declaration of Independence?

No, he hates America so much he wants to destroy it. End of story.

Obama is a Saul Alybski deciple. Saul Alinsky believed that the new system (Marxism) won’t be accepted until the old system (Free Enterprise) has beed completely destroyed and discredited. But, he also believed radicals should not tell people what they are planning to do because it would be too frightening. So the trick is to destroy the economy while appearing to try to save it. I also think Obama has been very successful. That is why Rush hopes he will fail.

If the "insider" is to be believed, you are right:

President Obama, when he is his de facto office upstairs – the one that is closer to Jarrett’s own office, and a short hop over to the residence, he spends his time there often in shorts, or sweats, a t-shirt, and those sandal things…flip-flops. There is a large screen television in there and that’s where hours of his time are spent when he is actually at the White House. Day in and day out. The First Lady rules the residence, and the president heads over to his 2nd floor West Wing study. Starting around last spring, he started to take regular briefings in there. And the instructions that went out on those briefings to the president were that they were to be most importantly – brief. Anything more than about 15 minutes is unacceptable to Obama. So let’s look through the eyes of someone heading into Barack Obama’s upstairs office at the White House to give him a briefing.

Maybe it’s on national security. Maybe the economy. Energy policy. Whatever – doesn’t matter. The scenario being played out these days is pretty much the same regardless of the particulars. You knock on the door – it’s always closed. Always. Often you have to knock for some time before being given approval from inside to enter. The big screen will be on – the volume loud. You can easily hear it from outside the door. The sports channels are the ones most commonly playing, though sometimes the channel will be set to music, or Fox News. Sometimes Valerie Jarrett might be there, but most often it is just the president and his personal aide. A large leather chair will be facing the television – it’s well worn. Not part of the White House furnishings but something the president must have brought in from back home. That’s where you’ll most often find the President of the United States – the most powerful man in the free f**ing world.

He often sits with one leg draped over one of the chair’s arms and the other leg stuck straight onto the floor. Shorts, sweats, a t-shirt, and like I said, no shoes or just those sandal things that so many of the younger people like to wear these days. And that leg that’s draped over an arm of the chair will be bopping up and down, like…like someone with a lot of nervous energy. Like a kid does. And there’s the smell of smoke hanging on the president. The guy never quite smoking – that was all bullsh*t. I told you that already. In fact, there’s one of those smokeless ash trays on the desk in there. And that desk, it’s a mess. Magazines spread out all over it. Stupid sh*t too. Real low brow reading material the president is into. People. Rolling Stone. Lots of those tabloid things. The most common thread with this sh*t is it’s about the president. If it’s about him, he’s gonna read it. Good or bad – doesn’t matter. If somebody is talking about him, he’s reading it. He’s watching it. Whatever. The guy’s self-obsession is off the f***ing charts.

So that’s what you first see when you enter the room – the upstairs office, of President Obama. Next you’re gonna notice how small the guy looks. Really thin. He pads his suits up you know. The top end. The shoulders. It became an actual issue during the 2008 campaign – some of his handlers were saying it made his neck look too small. Fact is, it made his neck look just like it is – small. The guy is scrawny. All knees and elbows sitting in that chair. Sometimes he gets up when you come in, sometimes he remains seated and will just turn the volume on the TV down with the remote and say, “What you got?” That foot is bouncing up and down while you give him the briefing, but he rarely looks over at you – always looking at whatever is on the television.

If it’s Jarrett in the room, or the personal assistant, one of them is there to keep the time. Your time. Don’t go over that ten minutes. And even if the president doesn’t look like he hears a word you’re saying, they are listening to everything. Every **da*n syllable coming out of your mouth, and if something is said they don’t like, they jot down notes. Been told it’s to use for the end of day summary they give the president – their own version of what is important and what can be ignored…and who might need to be pushed down, or pushed out…or whatever. So you’re looking at the president, this skinny guy, who’s ignoring you, who’s dressed like some kind of f***ing frat boy wannabe, with somebody else taking notes on what you’re saying, and then you get up and walk out.

The president might acknowledge you on some days, give a little not, maybe even a thank you, but most often he just continues to look at the TV, bounce that foot on the chair, his skin looking off-color, pale, the eyes out of focus, the hair a helleva lot more gray than is shown in public, the wrinkles around the mouth far deeper…and the hands. His fu***ng hands are so…they are just these thin little stick digits. They are like these long-fingered woman’s hands. And his wrists, you could wrap your own fingers all the way around those wrists – again, so much like a woman’s hands. Almost freakish. Certainly not the strong alpha-male type image that America was given during the 2008 campaign.

Where'd you get that fool notion? Oh. Right. From Ubama himself. And the relentless repetition from his partners in communism in Big Media.

There's a fine line between not trusting someone and not giving a flying fig what they think.

Except, in this case, that line is as fine as the width of The Mississippi River.
