It doesn't shift the Sabbath around at all. The seven-day rotation keeps going as it has been. It provides a leap week at the end of the year every six or seven years, but it's still Sunday through Friday.

Did you look at the calendar?

I usually think calendar adjusters are like duodecimalists or Esperantists; they want a better world, but they're not going to try to shoot us to make it work.

The Soviets experimented with a five-day work week, with four days on, one day off; however, they imposed this over the seven - day week, and in Russian Sunday was still called “Resurrection.”

The French Revolutionary calendar tried to make everything decimal, but it was superseded by Napoleon I’s restoration of the Gregorian calendar.

You are right. When you need a really good hospital, Johns Hopkins is the place to go.

I’ve always thought that Spring should start on January 1st.

The best part about the Mayan calendar thing in 2012? If they are right, we're all gone. If I'm right, I can make fun of them in 2013. And I surely expect to ridicule me some idiots. It's good for them. Builds character.

The extra month idea sucks. Why not do 2, two week periods? One in the summer and one in the winter.

If you or a loved one had a rare life-threatening disorder, you’d suddenly be awfully glad JH is there.

I doubt I'll ever have any condition that can't be treated by someone in the Houston Medical Center.

I’m sure we’ll figure out how to go from Thursday to Sunday one year, Monday to Sunday the next.

“Don’t they know there is a lot of money to be made in making calendars obsolete every year?”

While I did enjoy looking at the Dec. 1964 tool-girl calender above my old boss’ workbench, I’m glad that new ones come out every year!
