I ran across a story on FB that is admittedly hearsay at this point, but it would indicate that Gen. Ham actually attempted to DEFY the “stand down” order to provide air support, but within a minute of that decision was apprehended by his second in command, and relieved of his duties.

If that story is true, it could shed some light as to who made the decision at that point to call off the air support. If Ham actually managed to get the order out in defiance of the “stand down” order, then it would make sense why the strike was called off AFTER the C-130 was in the area.

Following is what I read, and shared over on FB. Like I said - I realize this is hearsay right now, but thought it perhaps may shed more light on the truth...

RE: General Ham, former head of Africom - word is he was ready to defy orders, and send a rapid response team to assist, but was apprehended and relieved of his duties by his second in command within 30 seconds - 1 min. after he made that decision. Gen Ham was fired 30 seconds after deciding to intervene in Benghazi: I heard a story today from someone inside the military that I trust entirely. The story was in reference to General Ham that Panetta referenced in the quote below.

“(The) basic principle is that you don’t deploy forces into harm’s way without knowing what’s going on; without having some real-time information about what’s taking place,” Panetta told Pentagon reporters. “And as a result of not having that kind of information, the commander who was on the ground in that area, Gen. Ham, Gen. Dempsey and I felt very strongly that we could not put forces at risk in that situation.”
The information I heard today was that General Ham as head of Africom received the same e-mails the White House received requesting help/support as the attack was taking place. General Ham immediately had a rapid response unit ready and communicated to the Pentagon that he had a unit ready.
General Ham then received the order to stand down. His response was to screw it, he was going to help anyhow. Within 30 seconds to a minute after making the move to respond, his second in command apprehended General Ham and told him that he was now relieved of his command.
The story continues that now General Rodiguez would take General Ham’s place as the head of Africon.
I found this story when I got home after hearing this story.

'Mysterious' Syria-bound Libyan ship may have link to US consulate attack: Report

A mysterious Libyan ship, reportedly carrying weapons and bound for Syrian rebels, may have some link to the terror attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, it has emerged.

The Libyan-flagged vessel Al Entisar, which means "The Victory," was received in the Turkish port of Iskenderun, near the Syrian border, on September 6, just five days before the attack on the US consulate.

On the night of September 11, slain US envoy Chris Stevens met with the Turkish Consul General Ali Sait Akin.

Although what was discussed at the meeting is not public, a source told Fox News that Stevens was in Benghazi to negotiate a weapons transfer, an effort to get SA-7 missiles out of the hands of Libya-based extremists.

According to the report, a congressional source cautioned against drawing premature conclusions about the consulate attack and the movement of weapons from Libya to Syria via Turkey, noting they may in fact be two separate and distinct events.

But the source acknowledged the timing and the meeting between the Turkish diplomat and Stevens was "unusual," the report said.

According to an earlier report by the Times of London, Al Entisar was carrying 400 tons of cargo.

Some of it was humanitarian, but also reportedly weapons, described by the report as the largest consignment of weapons headed for Syria's rebels on the frontlines. The cargo reportedly included surface-to-air anti-aircraft missiles, RPG's and Russian-designed shoulder-launched missiles known as MANPADS, the report said. (ANI)

Something ties in with Turkey as the envoy(?) left just before the attack. When will we learn that Arab like people are very tricky to deal with. I had my own experience on a trip to Morocco.

The trucks bore the logo of Ansar al-Shariah, a powerful local group of Islamist militants who worked with the municipal government to manage security in Benghazi, the main city in eastern Libya and birthplace of the uprising last year that ousted Moammar Gadhafi after a 42-year dictatorship.

Very important verbiage within your post: "with the help of the media."

They are co-conspirators of one of the worst attempted cover-ups in American history. The deaths of Americans are indeed on their hands as well. Freedom of the press does not by any stretch mean freedom to suppress the news.

It may take time, but eventually more facts concerning this abomination of justice will be revealed. All involved should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

One regular polling station manager was telling me that all efforts to the voting machines delivered has been met with excuse saying they were not ready or still being packed.

Sounds like they had to “prepare/repair” the units!
