Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- Happy New Year from all of us at Gun Owners of America
And we would also like to extend best wishes to Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock, who is challenging anti-gun Senator Richard Lugar in next years Republican primary.
Dick Lugar is without a doubt the most anti-gun Republican in the U.S. Senate.
He voted in favor of President Obamas two picks for the Supreme Court -- Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan who deny the existence of an individual right to bear arms.
* Lugar voted against repealing the gun bans in national parks and in Washington D.C. * He voted in favor of waiting periods for handgun purchases and he supports banning many semi-automatic firearms. * And Lugar was the only Republican Senator to refuse to sign a letter opposing a massive UN small arms treaty.
As you can imagine, Dick Lugar is one of the anti-gunners best friends in the Senate.
Gun Owners for Mourdock Richard Mourdock is a 100% gun rights supporter who will come to Washington to protect and defend the Second Amendment rights of all Americans.
Mourdock, a licensed pilot who was successful in the private sector for over 30 years before running for office, understands that gun ownership is a fundamental, individual liberty that must be safeguarded in a free society.
I encourage all gun owners and sportsmen to stand with Richard Mourdock in this important primary election. We also want to show Lugar and his Washington cronies that Richard Mourdock has the support of grassroots gun owners.
So please make the most generous contribution you can by clicking here. A strong finish in 2011 will help to give Richard Mourdock momentum heading into the May primary.
Thank you for your support of GOA, and for your support of Richard Mourdock. Together we can defeat the most anti-gun Republican Senator in Washington. Sincerely, Tim Macy Vice Chairman
P.S. The year end campaign finance reports are an important marker for candidates, so thank you for considering a contribution before the New Year. Also, like Richard on Facebook and thank him for his support of the Second Amendment.
Just ‘cause I’m curious, can someone tell me who the NRA endorses in this race?
Lugar antigun..............funny
Good question, who does the NRA support... Insider anti-constitutionalist or a person connected w/the citizens back home.
The NRA use to routinely endorse Lugar. If they endorse him this time, and I fear they will(see Harry Reid debacle), it will confirm my fears about the NRA and make me more resigned and satisfied that I donate extra beyond the membership to the GOA rather than the NRA. I still keep my annual NRA membership, but I do not donate anything extra to them anymore because of stunts mentioned above(Harry Reid debacle) and the 2007 Veterans Disarmament Act(See GOA website for explanation on this one).
From the gun issue—AND ONLY THAT ISSUE—Reid was a good guy. He constantly tipped us off on all the anti-gun stuff.
(He was a leftist horror show on EVERYTHING ELSE.)
We’ll see.
The NRA has a horrible inertia when it comes to challanges to anybody holding office.
I will vote for an anti-gun republican every time over a pro-gun democrat.
Why?
Because it is not the single anti-gun republican politician who causes the problem. It is the majority the pro-gun democrat adds to. When dems are in the majority, we get more gun control.
It is my fervant hope that all Republican squishes will be defeated by conservatives this election.
That we will flood the House with true conservatives and get a majority in the senate.
I will vote against them in the primaries.
Well Reid wasn’t that good a guy on the gun issue when you consider the judiciary. Reid voted against John Roberts and Sam Alito, two judges thought to be pro-Second Amendment at the time and later proven to be so. Reid voted for Kagan and Sotomayor, both of which there was no doubt would vote against an individual-right interpretation of the Second Amendment, which they later did to the surprise of no one.
Many are unhappy with the crop of Presidential candidates we have this time around and are wondering where to put their energies.
We need a Tea Party Congress. Lots of work to be done there.
Here's free advice to any campaign against Lugar: Say 'thank you for your service. You are not the future. You are no longer the main-stream. You've become a creature of Washington and don't represent the values of Indiana any more. It's time for you to retire."
I won’t be missing the primary. One big goal is sending “dick” Lugar into retirement.

Wisconsin swamped by concealed-carry applications

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin residents have overwhelmed the state Justice Department with so many concealed weapon permit applications agency officials say they probably won’t meet deadlines for issuing approvals this month despite pulling dozens of employees from other tasks to help.
The problem is that IN voters wouldn’t know a squish from a squash. All they recognize are the familiar-name candidates.
