(Liberal) Alan Colmes: Rick Santorum took dead baby home to 'play with it'

Liberal talk show host Alan Colmes sunk to new a new low when he said on Fox News that former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum took his deceased baby home to 'play with it.'

Noting that the GOP has "speed-dated" every other candidate, Colmes said voters should "get a load" of what he called the "crazy things" Santorum has said and done.

"Like taking his two-hour old baby who died right after childbirth home and played with it for a couple hours so his other children would know it was real, I mean..."

At this point, Fox News contributor Rich Lowry tore into Colmes, calling his statement a "cheap shot."

Lowry lambasted Colmes for "mocking" the death of Santorum's child and said it was beneath the liberal talker, sometimes known as "Skeletor" among some conservatives

I just watched the video and Coilmes is a total piece of trash. Also, I guess Colmes mother never told him to sit up straight when you’re on tv.

Update: Alan Colmes says he has spoken to the Santorums and apologized for his insensitive remark.

NOT
GOOD
ENOUGH

He should be off the air, given the full Don Imus / Jimmy the Greek treatment.

Colmes will say anything to get noticed. Why they keep that grinning clown around confounds me.

Even Fox's other Liberal, Juan Williams, has more class than Alan Colmes.

While I never have heard of someone taking a dead baby home, I know several folks who have lost newborns and had family come into the room to share the grief with parents and young siblings. At first I thought it was creepy. But after having two kids of our own I can understand it more.

Also, this is not something anyone does without the advice of a counselor. I am sure there were folks from the hospitall that helped them through this.

Unusual for sure. But I would not want to walk in those shoes.

Colmes just showed that he does not have the ability to even appear anything close to impartial with that hate filled comment.

hotair has the Hannity video of Santorum’s reaction, where Rick says that Colmes has apologized and that Karen and Rick have accepted the apology. Pretty moving video of Rick’s experience and the reasoning for having the infant’s funeral in the home.

It is hard to believe, but I think this is going to be the nastiest round yet. I almost didn’t comment, but we haven’t yet seen the bottom, the very dregs of humanity that are going surface.

Why Bill O’Reilly still has Alan on his show is beyond me. Colmes is an absolute waste of time.

but Lowry shot back, “I’m interrupting you because what you’re saying is contemptible.”

Luv it!

Grief causes people to do things that seem strange to others not experiencing it. Been there (relatively speaking - not this scenario in particular and would not want to).

But Skeletor needs a shunning. Any decent person should flat refuse to appear with him on TV or anywhere else. His ‘apology’ is BS.

Comes epitomizes the liberal approach to argument. He only mocks and ridicules. The concept of a reasoned argument and civilized discourse is alien to him.

1. He was in a state of grief. What is weird in a normal state didn’t seem weird at the time. And there’s the expectation or promise of “bringing the baby home”. He did. It was just dead.
2. The “reborn” babies seem weirder to me, making dolls of the dead kids.
3. The women who make baby dolls and then treat them as real babies is frankly way crazier. Babying dogs is only slightly less crazy.

It was very common in the old days and I believe there's some religious sects that still do it.

All the more reason not to watch Faux News anymore. Next thing you know, Ailes will give that vile piece of crap his own TV show.

"Also, I guess Colmes mother never told him to sit up straight when you’re on tv."

When Alan Colmes was born, they threw away the baby, and kept the afterbirth.
