Liberal talk show host Alan Colmes sunk to new a new low when he said on Fox News that former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum took his deceased baby home to 'play with it.'
Noting that the GOP has "speed-dated" every other candidate, Colmes said voters should "get a load" of what he called the "crazy things" Santorum has said and done.
"Like taking his two-hour old baby who died right after childbirth home and played with it for a couple hours so his other children would know it was real, I mean..."
At this point, Fox News contributor Rich Lowry tore into Colmes, calling his statement a "cheap shot."
Lowry lambasted Colmes for "mocking" the death of Santorum's child and said it was beneath the liberal talker, sometimes known as "Skeletor" among some conservatives

Colmes just showed that he does not have the ability to even appear anything close to impartial with that hate filled comment.
Not only that, but he clearly do not have good manners and no common decency either, Fox aught to not have him on anymore, shame on him
You miss the point. The infant was first alive and then died. This means the newborn was a living soul, deserving of dignity, loved and recieved into the family for what he was, a baby brother to the children. The funeral was in the home, on the same day that he was brought to the home, after his death at birth, and after the other children and family were able to view the little body.
Go away.

This is second time I’ve read of a family taking a stillborn neonate home for time with the family. Just guessing, I think it brings the reality of the baby home to any siblings, acknowledges the baby as a member of the family, and brings some emotional closure.
You are right. I emailed Fox and told them its way past time to cut Alan loose. I hope a few million others did also. That guy is beyond words.

When my niece lost her month old baby after a failed attempt to fix her heart, we gathered in the hospital an held her, prayed, cried, comforted each other, waited for other family members to come by, talked to counselors, doctors and pastors. It took hours, and it still wasn’t enough in the sense that we still had a need to love and protect her and yet left her little body there and went home without her. Everything about it was surreal and horrid and heartbreaking.
For some people like Colmes who are trying to turn this into a public issue, being an a-hole is an aspiration.
Colmes is a total sleezebag for ridiculing Santorum in this manner and casts his lot with the same type of lowlife who make sport of regularly ridiculing other people's religious faith on this forum and elsewhere.
Now thats a new word for O’Reilly, and tell him WHO it means. Maybe Bill can just say, “Don’t be a COLMES”.
