DAMMIT!!! We are retired after YEARS of paying through the nose for YOUR grandparent’s SOCIAL SECURITY and MEDICARE for YEARS, and YEARS, and YEARS . . THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars for taxes to fund YOUR government EDUCATION, and your parent’s government EDUCATION.
We did NOT complain then about all those lovely THOUSANDS of dollars the government TOOK from our paychecks in order to bankroll you and YOUR forebears’ ENTITLEMENTS.

Well said! So tired of young punks bashing retired seniors who have worked their whole lives paying into SS only to see meager returns during their old age. Do they think this monthly stipend is a free handout?? How naive.
And of course, it’s a whole lot less than it could be after taxes and Medicare is deducted. Wish youngsters would learn there is no free lunch.
My kids never complain about taking care of the missus and myself when we get near death. Mind you, we are both mid fifties and will probably work til we die.
But my parents had it good, those long retirements that allowed them to retire after all the wars they fought.
Most of us boomers were pretty spoiled, but today’s kids are ultra spoiled.
One, that ‘government education’, they wouldn’t even let me in. Seems they don’t take folks with disabilities.
Two, seems they don’t hire folks with disabilities either, despite our qualifications.
I went to school, paid my own way through school, and don’t owe anybody a dime.
The debt, just 10 years ago was 40 percent of GDP. Now it’s 100 percent. You bet I’m angry.
