More proof of redistricting manipulation by Democrats

Sacramento – Over the summer, the website I edit, CalWatchdog, published a series of articles documenting the way that the political Left exploited the redistricting process in California to assure strong gains for the Democratic Party. The report included an exclusive interview with a redistricting commission member who alleged partisan behavior by his supposedly nonpartisan commission colleagues.

The series didn't cause attract attention in the media, the Capitol or among the public. Apparently, no one was surprised that a commission formed with the best of intentions – i.e., taking backroom political deal-making out of the process by which political boundaries are drawn – was cynically manipulated to create a partisan advantage.

But the story is getting renewed life now that the ProPublica investigative journalism website published a new report, called "How Democrats Fooled California's Redistricting Commission." If you weren't cynical about the state of California's political system before reading it, you will be now. It reveals several lessons for California political observers, ranging from the ruthlessness of the state's powerful Democratic Party, to the utter incompetence of the state's fading Republican Party. It also reminds us that even the best-intentioned good-government reforms may make matters worse if proponents of reform don't grapple with political reality.

Calwatchdog's series...

--snip--

The Democrats played hard-ball politics, undermined the spirit of redistricting and caught the Republican Party flat-footed...

“The Democrats knew what they were doing, and Republicans were asleep at the switch.”

We are the stupid party. No more tax breaks for country clubbers until things change.

Are you surprised?

The incompetence and shear stupidity of the RINO’s is exceeded only by the utter ruthlessness and depraved lust for power on behalf of the socialist “democrats” .... All aided and abetted and encouraged by their media, and the universities that feed both government and “journalist” bureaucracies.

It’s the usual. Idjits tried to take the politics out of politics with predictable results. The only thing which has even marginally worked at that was putting the California Supreme Court in charge with instructions to be mathematically precise and to **** with local government boundaries.

no truer words were ever spokien on the other hand. On the ohter hand they are probably going to have to cvhange thier weasys if they are going to survive and California does have a remarkble ability to reinvent themselves. On the other hand most of those people have moved out.

The communist DemocRATS really stuck it to Americans during their “redistricting” fiasco. I never thought the ‘RATS could get away with this bull**** in Arizona. They sent in Barry’s first string to screw over Arizonans and a so called “judge” let them do it.

Article on how the democrats used the “Independent” commission in Cali to win redistricting. Allegedly the GOP was “asleep at the switch” while the rats worked behind the scenes in grand manipulation.
