She’s lucky it was just the cop that came to her house. Every librarian I’ve ever known has been a dragon in lipstick.
Doh ! I’m a maroon, everyone...
And how much extra did this adventure cost the taxpayer? (time, energy, and distraction from real crime) I think she should be commended for even checking out books considering the reading level of children in this country.
They couldn’t afford a post card?
Those cops in that city don’t have much to do.Maybe we should send some illegals up there to keep them busy.
Sure, now the librarians are the bad guys. BS The mother should had made sure the books were returned. That library probably called and mailed notices. The mother just IGNORED it.
People take thousands of dollars of property every year from libraries when they don’t return (i.e. steal) library books. Libraries budgets are already practically nonexistant. It isn’t just the price of the book, but also the supplies and time to process it.
So waaa. Next time return the damn books and you won’t get embarrased.
So I guess they do things "old school" out there ...
Up to post 9 with no pictures of bookman???
Clearly the parents are responsible. Instead of blaming the library the mother should apologize and return the books and pay the fine, or pay for the books.
What kind of example is the mother showing her daughter? Is she teaching her daughter to ignore commitments she made when she obtained a library card? How is that going to help her to be a responsible citizen?
