Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said on Wednesday that President Barack Obama's plan to use a recess appointment for the new consumer bureau puts the nominee in "uncertain legal territory."
Obama plans to sidestep Republican opposition to Richard Cordray by using a recess appointment on Wednesday, but McConnell said in a statement that the Senate is not in recess.

Thats fine, Mitch, but what are you going to DO about it?
McConnell will blast the president with an even longer dull, monotone speech. That’ll show ‘em!
Hold a quick vote as if Obummer had submitted him and REJECT HIM
With a mealy mouthed response like that don't expect more than a "I strongly object!"
They better do something because there is no recess to appoint anyone!
come on Mitch!!
Don’t be a wuz - don’t let O get away with this!!
Screw Mitchel! The House better start impeachment.
“Stop or I shall say Stop again!”
Reid has given the OK even though the Senate is still considered in session. So basically it’s a dead issue. Boner or McConman won’t do a damn thing about it.
We THE PEOPLE can fight back by ignoring anything coming from an unconstitutionally established office.
“You said we have to WHAT?”
“Who are YOU?”
Obama is raping our great country and the repubs in congress do nothing to stop him. I suppose they are afraid he might throw down that scary little race card again, but they need to understand that it does not trump the law.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict they will do nothing. The limit of what they’ll do is what McConnell just said.
Ever get the feeling this whole political charade is like a big long soap opera? It’s all pre-written and stage-managed, and not very well directed. I wonder if politicians have to have a Screen Actors Guild card in order to be elected...
Have you ever talked to a blank wall? Same difference. That’s the way it is with MOST Republicans anyhoo......:(
Did the republicans say “legal doubts”, or is that the media’s take?
Because what McConnell SHOULD have said was “It would be illegal and unconstitutional for Obama to attempt a recess appointment while the Senate is in session, and therefore no appointment can be made at this time”.
There’s no point in leaving any question about it. If they let Obama get away with this, there’s really nothing stopping him from “recess appointing” a new Supreme Court justice or two, even though there is no vacancy.
Start talking publicly about impeachment.
Tell the media why (F&F, solyndra, and 291 other reasons).
This President is breaking the Constitution and instituting a fascist state on us with no shots fired.
Neither he nor Boner will do a damn thing. They’re RINOs who don’t want to hurt their chances to be invited to parties and elbow rub events in D.C.
They’re both worthless and useless.
Thats fine, Mitch, but what are you going to DO about it?
Nothin! Mitch is a weasel!
