Republican backers of Mitt Romney get a bit terse when you bring up Romneycare. My last discussion with a fellow Republican who backs Romney resulted in a shrill, Asked and answered! Move on! He didnt want to continue the conversation. I guess we are supposed to move away from the topic because after all, the question of whether Mitt Romney stands behind Romneycare has been asked and answered, many times. We are supposed to believe that Mitt Romney was acting out of duty to the highest sense of morality for conservatism, the 10th Amendment to the Constitution.
Or something like that.
So the Republican establishment neatly tells us that the huge, purple, polka-dotted elephant in the room is off limits. In fact, the Romney faithful have tried to make the legislation a plus on his side against Obama, pointing out distinctions and showing how much more conservative it is than Obamacare.
Never mind that the Democrat Partys leading healthcare adviser helped write the bill and is now perplexed at how Romney isnt bragging about the greatness of it, complaining that though Romney tries to draw distinctions, Romneycare and Obamacare are the same f***ing bill. Jonathan Gruber, the foul-mouthed, quotable MIT economist, lives in an alternate universe where large government solutions actually create more jobs, and encourage entrepreneurship.
There is one distinction, however, between Romneycare and Obamacare that bothers me besides the fact that socialized medicine is, and always will be, the wrong way to go. Romneycare provides for taxpayer funded abortions.

Romney on abortion, etc, in his own words: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=7OQoBxZZPqU
RomneyCare mandates, exchanges, and subsidies = ObamaCare mandates, exchanges, and subsidies
Plus RomneyCare includes the public option and cheaper ($50) abortions mandated.

Romney say when running for the senate that he was “more pro choice” than Kennedy - nuff said.
Oh boy! McCain v.2.0! In case any of you missed it, he was endorsed by McCain V.1.0.
Screw you, GOP! We won’t accept any more damned RINOs!
Not only that, there’s a rumor going around that if the victor, Mitt will choose McCain as his VP.
Will McLame reassure us that we have nothing to fear from a Obama reelection?
It’s a matter of the GOP, through Romney, offering America the illusion of slow road to socialism as opposed to the democrats’ bullet train.
Once they put it in place, then we get to fight about reforming it “to save” or “invest” taxpayer money and which group(s) will be preferred (permitted health care - allowed to live) over the others (who will be denied health care - killed). Babies, the handicapped, and elderly don’t do well under socialism. Russia is depopulating at an alarming rate. Same with the natives of Europe.
No thanks. FUMR
Well, women wanting to murder their babies do have to pay that $50 co pay......Unless of course they don’t have $50, in which case, Mass. tax payers will pat it all.
Mitt Romney is the most down right evil candidate in the history of the republic.
I’ve put my Pastor on notice that if Romney is the candidate and he pushes Romney from the pulpit, as he has already hinted that he’d do, I’ll be church shopping.
He’s of the same school as many here that voting for the evil Romney would be preferable to another Obama term.
He’s Baptist and I never thought I’d hear a Baptist Preacher come up with such nonsense.
