Bill Gertz of the Washington Times reports that President Barack Obama has indicated he is prepared to convey information about secret American missile defense technology to Russia:

In the president’s signing statement issued Saturday in passing into law the fiscal 2012 defense authorization bill, Mr. Obama said restrictions aimed at protecting top-secret technical data on U.S. Standard Missile-3 velocity burnout parameters might impinge on his constitutional foreign policy authority.

As first disclosed in this space several weeks ago, U.S. officials are planning to provide Moscow with the SM-3 data, despite reservations from security officials who say that doing so could compromise the effectiveness of the system by allowing Russian weapons technicians to counter the missile. The weapons are considered some of the most effective high-speed interceptors in the U.S. missile defense arsenal.

There are also concerns that Russia could share the secret data with China and rogue states such as Iran and North Korea to help their missile programs defeat U.S. missile defenses.

Even before this latest revelation, the entire enterprise of President Obama’s disarmament policy–from “reset” with Russia to selling out our European allies–had been a c

I think that Reagan proposed to share the fruits of SDI research with the Russians. There were all kinds of problems with that. Congress might not have allowed it. They won't allow foreign sales of the F-22, for example. This looks like Barry is just going to unilaterally go ahead and give away one of our technological crown jewels. Maybe he's attempting to provoke a heated response from House Republicans. Hope he gets it!

This was publicized back before the start treaty was even signed and obama paid no attention to objections from the Pentagon. Now he owns the pentagon. It’s good to be the king.

“Obama to Share Missile Defense Secrets With Russia?

Reagan proposed the same thing.”

Yes, but Reagan's proposal was simply a negotiating ploy to overcome the objections of our European “allies” to contributing to SDI research and development. AFAIK, no missile-defense secrets were ever shared with the Soviet Union during the Reagan Administration.

If the Kenyan even attempts to do this, the GOP members of Congress need to grow a spine (for once) and start impeachment hearings.

I honestly cannot take much more of this.

As long as Boehner and McConnell are in power, Obama’s got free reign.

I call BS. Missiles’ parameters are no secret. Every idiot who has radar and ELINT capabilities is able to measure any possible aspect during tests.

Well said. Sounds like you have some background in SIGINT. Unfortunately it was Ronnie Reagan (AKA "GOD" in some precincts) who first offered to share ABM specs with the Russkis, a fact that the Traitor in Chief will no doubt point out too his critics (i.e. the difference between naivete, in Reagan's case, and treason in Al Obama's case).
